Bikes on the Bricks starts today. Beer tent is open tonight and officers are practicing on the flat lot. Tomorrow and Sunday the streets are open to only motorcycles with vendors lining the streets. Bikes on the Bricks starts today, Friday, September 12, 2014
Police officers are going to be practicing on the downtown flat lot and they will also be selling event t-shirts and police escorted ride wristbands. On Saturday, the street will be closed off to regular traffic and allow only for motorcycle parking. Come on down to watch the police motor officers, visit the vendors lining Saginaw Street or catch the fashion show at 2:30pm. Sunday events include police motorcycle finals and challenge course, event stunt rider and beer tent concert entertainment. I do not normally post regarding current criminal cases, but since there has been so much publicity regarding the recent child abode video circulating on Facebook, I thought it would be appropriate. Three people were each charged with 3rd degree child abuse, conspiracy to commit 3rd degree child abuse and 3rd degree child abuse committed in the presence of another child; all three of these charges are felonies and bond was set at $75,000 for each charge. Thank you to everyone who provided tips regarding this case!

Thank you to all of the wonderful people who helped me downtown for Bikes on the Bricks this year!! Had a fun time, even though it rained Sunday. Thanks to everyone who came down to support us and the Flint Police Motor Unit. Already thinking of great ideas for next year, let me know if you have any suggestions...
