A Perfect Day at the 2026 Hunterdon Polo Classic!
There are some days that simply remind us what makes Hunterdon County such a special place to live.
Saturday, June 13, was one of those days. Under brilliant blue skies and sunshine, hundreds of community members gathered at beautiful Fieldview Farm in Pittstown for the 26th Annual Hunterdon Polo Classic. As one of this year’s beneficiary organizations, Family Promise of Hunterdon County was honored and deeply grateful to be part of this tradition. The event raises funds and awareness for several local nonprofits, including Family Promise of Hunterdon County, while bringing together families, friends, neighbors, and businesses for an unforgettable summer afternoon. And what a day it was!
The weather could not have been more perfect. Guests spread out across the rolling countryside, tailgates were decorated with creativity, and laughter filled the air as families enjoyed the many festivities that make the Hunterdon Polo Classic so unique.
Of course, the polo match itself was thrilling. For many attendees, watching the speed, skill, and athleticism of the riders and horses is reason enough to attend. But the Polo Classic is so much more than a sporting event. It’s a celebration.
Children enjoyed family-friendly activities while adults mingled with friends old and new. Spectacular classic cars were on display. The crowd admired the creativity of the tailgate competition and the elegance of the always-popular hat contest. The beloved basset hounds made their appearance, delighting spectators of all ages. And during halftime, guests took part in one of polo’s most cherished traditions… the divot stomp where everyone is invited onto the field to help smooth the turf while enjoying the camaraderie and fun of the afternoon.
What makes events like the Hunterdon Polo Classic so meaningful is that they demonstrate the power of community. When people come together to enjoy a beautiful day, support local organizations, and invest in their neighbors, incredible things happen.
At Family Promise of Hunterdon County, we see every day how a community can change lives.
Through our Promise Center transitional housing program, homelessness prevention efforts, case management services, and support programs, we help families experiencing housing instability move toward sustainable independence. We work alongside parents and children as they navigate difficult circumstances and build brighter futures.
None of this happens alone. It takes volunteers. It takes donors. It takes businesses, civic organizations, foundations, faith communities, and compassionate individuals who believe that every family deserves a safe place to call home.
Events like the Hunterdon Polo Classic remind us that when a community comes together, hope grows stronger.
To everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, organized, donated, participated, or simply cheered from the sidelines: thank you. Your support helps create opportunities for families right here in Hunterdon County.
We are especially grateful to the Hunterdon Foundation, the event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and the many attendees whose generosity makes this event possible year after year. Their commitment to supporting local nonprofits creates a ripple effect that strengthens our entire community.
As we reflect on this wonderful day, our hearts are full of gratitude. We are proud to have been one of the beneficiary organizations of the 2026 Hunterdon Polo Classic, and we are already looking forward to next year.
