Last night’s storms had much lightning and strong winds. More of the same is possible today as a old front will bring the chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and through the evening. Some storms could be strong to severe with the primary threat being damaging winds. Stay weather aware and be alert for changing conditions.

03/29/2026

Very low humidity, combined with gusty southwest winds and dry fuels will result in High Fire Danger between 10 am and around sunset today.

03/24/2026

Critically dry conditions exist for today into tomorrow with relative humidity at less than 10% both days. Thursday is only slightly better. Statewide fire hazard regulations remain in effect through April 30. No burning is allowed within 150 feet of any woodland or brush land between 6:00am-6;00pm.

03/22/2026

Be weather aware late tonight and into the early morning hours.

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS / IMPACTS:
A stronger cold front will approach from the northwest tonight and produce more widespread showers and storms.
The best chances for strong to severe thunderstorms tonight are north of Interstate 64, where the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Slight Risk.
Initially discrete convection will primarily pose a risk for hail and damaging wind gusts, but the activity is expected to congeal into a line and drop south-southeast overnight.
The line is forecast to weaken as it moves further into our forecast area, but a Marginal Risk for hail and gusty winds remains overnight for locations north of the KY-80/Hal Rogers Parkway corridor.
