Spring 2024 city-wide clean-up begins next week. Limbs for chipping must be placed at the street by 7:00 am on Monday, April 8. Limb chipping will NOT be all week. Any limbs placed out after this deadline will be billed the normal $25 per 15 minutes of chipping.

Update (4/4/24) - The lab's owner has contacted us and she will be reunited shortly. The beagle is still looking for her people.

Does anyone recognize these lovely ladies? The white and brown girl was picked up this evening behind the auction barn on East Old Spanish Trail. Since it was after hours, she has not been checked for a microchip yet.

The golden lab was found about a week ago by a good citizen who is temporarily housing her. She has a microchip but the address is from San Antonio and the phone number is disconnected.

The City of Flatonia City Pool is still accepting applications for summer Lifeguards. The deadline to apply is April 15. Certified training is provided. Contact City Secretary Jackie Ott at 361-865-3548 for more information.

The utility crew will be replacing a fire hydrant this morning, so water will be off near S. La Grange from Mesquite West to the City Limits and Pecan St. from S. La Grange to N. Main. They will work as quickly as they can to restore service, but there is no timeline. Thank you for your patience while we continue to improve our public works!

As a reminder, the City of Flatonia Ordinance 2.03.081 provides the guidelines for maintaining fowl (chickens, turkeys, ducks, etc.) inside the city limits. Fowl must be contained and roosters are not allowed. Contact our Code Enforcement Official Araceli Hernandez at 361-865-3548 with any questions or concerns. You can view the entire ordinance here:

§ 2.03.081 It shall be unlawful for any person owning chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, or other fowl to permit such fowl to run at large within the city limits.(2001 Code, sec. 2.501)

**UPDATE** He is back at home with his family.

The owner has been identified as Morgan Tindall. If you know her, please let her know her sweet boy is at City Hall waiting for pick up.

Each City of Flatonia utility customer will be allowed to dispose of six (6) un-compacted yards of solid waste at no charge. Additional amounts of waste will be billed to your next utility bill at the rate of $15.00 per un-compacted yard. Commercial waste will not be accepted without prior written authorization. Tires and hazardous waste materials (chemicals, oils, paint, batteries, etc.) will not be accepted. ** Be prepared to show your latest utility bill or receipt.
