French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization has a survey for you! It closes July 22, 2026, so take a look! They're asking for your feedback on transportation projects being considered through North Carolina's P8.0 transportation prioritization process.

Projects include roadway improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, transit investments, freight projects, and safety enhancements across our region.

The survey allows you to review proposed projects and tell us what you think. You can support projects, express concerns, or share a neutral opinion—and you only need to rate the projects that matter most to you.

Your feedback will help inform how the MPO allocates its limited local input points, which can influence how projects are scored and ranked for potential state and federal funding.

Beekeeper's Talk: Sunday June 14th, 11:00 am

Park Beekeeper Will Garvey will host a program under the Staton Pavilion, teaching about the Park's bee hives, the importance of pollinators, and the life cycle of a hive. Honey sampling included!

Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site - info on closure

*UPDATE* The trail has been cleared, and the main visitor parking lot and Front Lake Trail detour route are open again. Be cautious as the rain has made the trail and lakebed harder to navigate.
*CLOSURE ALERT*
The main visitor parking lot is closed due to a tree down on the Front Lake Trail detour route. The Hiker's Lot remains open. We will post here as soon as the parking lot and trail have re-opened.
