The Southampton Youth Bureau provides positive youth development and early intervention services that support young people so that they achieve their potential at school, work, and beyond. Together with other town departments, schools, and community participants, they offer teens the chance to:

- Develop job and general life skills

- Earn community service credit

- Provide ongoing input rega

rding their beliefs, habits, interests, and concerns through the Teen Assessment Survey.

- Access low-cost transportation

- Enjoy two youth-oriented facilities open 3 to 4 days per week, 3 to 6 hours per day

- Participate in trips, programs, and activities locally and throughout the regionafter school and on weekends

- Assist in the governance of their community through the Youth Board, Youth Court, and Youth Advisory Committee

The Southampton Youth Bureau was proud to be a part the Hamptons Pride parade on Saturday! We stand strong in supporting all youth, regardless of gender, preference, sexuality, or lifestyle.
A big thank you to Hamptons Pride for organizing such an inclusive event where everyone feels free to be their true selves.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS IS ONE WEEK AWAY! On Friday, June 5th, five local high school bands will rock out at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays and compete for great prizes courtesy of Dream Recording Studios, LTV Studios, Hampton Coffee Company, Hampton Theatre Company, Bay Street Theater, Edgewater Restaurant, Guild Hall, and more! Gates will open at 7:00pm with special guest performances and the 23rd Annual Battle of the Bands will begin promptly at 8:00pm. Throughout the night, audience members will have the chance to win prizes by answering music trivia questions. Audience members will also be able to learn about local community resources at a fair on the Ponquogue Pavilion. Admission is $10 – cash only and concession is available on site. In the event of bad weather conditions, the 23rd Annual Battle of the Bands will be rescheduled for Friday, June 12th. The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau proudly congratulates two outstanding high school seniors for earning Academic All-County honors! Gabriel Kaczmarek and Matteo Villano have been long-time participants in the Southampton Youth Bureau’s Basketball Clinics, where they developed their athletic ability, but also demonstrated character, leadership, and commitment to academic excellence.

The Southampton Youth Bureau would like to extend its sincere thanks to Suffolk County Legislator Ann Welker for recognizing Elhani Armijos in celebration of Youth Week 2026. On Thursday, May 14th, the Suffolk County Youth Bureau, along with County Legislators from each district, gathered at the H. Lee Dennison Building to honor young individuals who have made a meaningful impact within their communities.

Elhani, a junior at Westhampton Beach High School who will be entering her senior year this fall, has been actively involved in numerous Youth Bureau programs, events, and activities as a peer leader. She has consistently demonstrated an outstanding commitment to civic engagement through participation in the Youth and Government Program and the Youth Advisory Committee. In addition, she has shown strong teamwork and reliability through her involvement in the Broader Horizons Job Program.

Elhani has also exhibited genuine compassion and empathy for her peers through her work in the Youth Court Program, supporting fellow students in a positive and constructive manner.

Through her dedication, Elhani has contributed over 125 hours of community service by actively engaging in a wide range of programs offered by the Southampton Town Youth Bureau. Her commitment to both her peers and her community has been exceptional. She serves as a true role model and an inspiration to many.

Youth in grades K – 8 are invited to have fun swimming, playing sports, games, and much more at the SYS Recreation Center, 1370a Majors Path beginning Monday, July 6th and ending on Thursday, August 13th. The pool is open on Mondays for youth going into grades K – 4 and on Thursdays for youth going into grades 5 – 8 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Roundtrip transportation is available from the Flanders Community Center, 655 Flanders Rd. Bus leaves at 5:00pm and will return approximately at 8:30pm. A bathing suit and towel are required so don’t forget it! Life jackets are required for inexperienced swimmers. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Youth in grades 5 through 12 are invited to a free soccer program every Wednesday from July 8th through August 19th, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. Participants will enjoy clinics led by experienced coaches in a supervised environment. Free food and music will be provided on select nights. The program will be held on the field adjacent to the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Thank you to everyone who attended the Southampton Youth Bureau’s Mother’s Day Star Wars Pancake Breakfast this past Saturday, May 9th at the Hampton Bays Community Center!

The event brought together families, residents, and community members for a fun morning of breakfast, crafts, bingo, raffles, and themed activities in celebration of Mother’s Day. We appreciate the support of our volunteers, local businesses, and Youth Advisory Committee members who helped make the event a success.

A special thank you to Southampton Town Senior Services for preparing breakfast for the event.

Proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast will support the Youth Advisory Committee’s ongoing community service projects and initiatives throughout the year.

We were grateful to celebrate with so many local families and thank all who participated!

The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s Youth Advisory Committee will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast to celebrate Mother's Day weekend and to raise money for future community service projects on Saturday, May 9th from 9:00am - 11:30am at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue. Breakfast is $10/person or $20/family (up to four persons) when purchased in advance. Individuals can also arrive the day of event for $15/person or $25/family of four. Activities include crafts, trivia, Star Wars character appearances, and raffles for prizes from local businesses.
