Last Sunday morning at Delaney Hall, Guy Citron encountered ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances. One thing was abundantly clear: how much—or how little—basic human dignity was being honored was on full display.

Their stories remind us why essential American rights, like due process, matter, and why we should be concerned when those protections begin to slip away.

If New Jersey is serious about flood protection, then every land-use decision should be evaluated through that lens. Delaying flood protections like the REAL rules while approving more warehouses and large-scale development in vulnerable areas sends mixed signals. Governor Mikie Sherrill, please take another look.
