This morning, a staff member spotted this beautiful moment in the gallery—a painting reflected in a case in the newly installed "Artist Hopid Unveiled: Ancestral Echoes." Come see the new rotation and join us for its opening event Saturday, with an artist talk at 1 pm!

MNA archaeologists worked in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area again this past summer. With our NPS colleagues, we identify and document sites that have been exposed by the lower water levels in Lake Powell. Some sites were damaged by being submerged but we are happy to report that others are in surprisingly good condition. It's a beautiful area to work, and we were lucky to see some bighorn sheep!

Art for Sunday morning. Enjoy!

Today's work is by Milland Lomakema, a member of the Artist Hopid collective. On the left a prayer offering, paaho, calls for a good harvest as sun and clouds bring warmth and rain to grow corn to maturity. On view today and Monday in 'Artist Hopid Unveiled: Tending the Source', and online at www.musnaz.org 24/7.
