Dr. Jack Robert Dustman was a man with many interests, and one of his greatest interests and passions in life was education. He was a professor for over fifty years, forty of which were spent teaching business administration at Northern Arizona University. He also taught at Arizona State University, the University of Southern California, California State Polytechnic College, Pomona, and California
Lutheran College. His academic areas of interest included human resource management, labor law, and arbitration. He served as an ombudsman for NAU and as an arbitrator for several private organizations throughout northern Arizona. He was a member of the American Arbitration Association, Northern Arizona Human Resources Association, and the Society for Human Resource Management. He retired as Professor Emeritus in May of 2010. As a family man, Dr. Dustman loved his home and family. He was an avid sports enthusiast and a supporter of the Lumberjack Athletic Association. He was an outstanding golfer and spent many happy hours on the golf course. He served on the board of the Continental Country Club for many years. He was a coach and board member for Continental Little League. As an accomplished musician, Dr. Dustman played piano and sang. He sang in the Master Chorale of Flagstaff for many years and played piano for numerous college, church, and community events. Dr. Dustman was a life-long learner and an active participant in the university community. Friends and family were an important part of Dr. Dustman’s life. He would be pleased to know that they have established this fund to help students learn and pursue their academic goals.
