From crayons to confidence, today Kinsey Kindergarteners promoted to 1st grade! We are very proud of our students. Not only did they learn the ABCs and 123s, they also grew as kind, brave, and courageous students! Ahéhee’, Askwali/Kwakwhay, Gracias, and Thank You, families and Kinsey staff for helping us celebrate one of many milestones for our little learners! 🥳

Our Kinsey 5th graders celebrated a bittersweet day as they were all promoted to middle school. Some students have been HotShots since preschool, while others have been HotShots for mere months, however longevity speaks little to the volumes of accomplishments they have all made while spending their educational time at Kinsey. The staff, students, and families cannot wait to see what the future has in store for these bright young people. Once a HotShot, always a HotShot.

Ms. Madelynn Cleis is our Kinsey physical education teacher. Ms. Cleis has navigated her position with poise and grace, carefully paying attention to every detail along the way. It is clear the pride that Ms. Cleis takes in her job as PE teacher as well as her part in the Kinsey community. Ms Cleis kindled an unprecedented joy in kids as she introduced them to Cosmic Bowling, a larger than life field day ball and a Kinsey Field Day that Kinsey kids and staff will remember for years to come just to mention a few. Ms. Cleis is deeply passionate about kids and community. Kinsey has been blessed to have her. Thank you Ms. Cleis for the joy you brought and cultivated at Kinsey Elementary. Ms. Olivia Grasso has worked diligently and tirelessly to support kids as an instructional aid at Kinsey Elementary. Olivia is always willing to help no matter the task and collaborate with her team to go above and beyond to help both kids and staff. In other news, Olivia is an artist, who sometime ago put pen to paper and created a lovely and delicate portrait of the Kinsey facade. So lovely in fact that the portrait was made into a gift/card that is given to all as a thank you. Thank you Ms. Olivia for all that you have done for Kinsey kids, staff and community. No doubt that all whom you encounter will be better for it.

Field Day 2026 was one for the books at Kinsey ☀️🎉
Today was filled with teamwork, laughter, friendly competition, and so many memories made.
From running through obstacle courses to cheering each other on during games and water activities, our students had an unforgettable day! ⚽🏃‍♀️

Today, Kinsey came alive with culture, creativity, and community during our annual Cultural Celebration! Students proudly shared their culture-themed Discover Day projects with one another, learning about traditions, histories, and experiences from around the world. From an exciting Tae Kwon Do demonstration to a vibrant fashion show showcasing cultural attire, the day was filled with meaningful learning and celebration. Students also joined together in a beautiful circle dance led by Kinsey’s very own Ms. Begay, reminding us how culture connects us all through movement, storytelling, and joy.

Kinsey Elementary is not Kinsey without the support of our Community Partners and Volunteers. This year we welcomed 75 wonderful groups to enrich students learning.

Today our 4th and 5th grade students had the incredible opportunity to meet Brian Young!

Brian Young shared his experiences, wisdom, and the creativity behind his storytelling. Our students were especially excited because they have recently completed reading two of his books, Healer of the Water Monster and Heroes of the Water Monster.

Hearing directly from the author helped bring the stories to life and encouraged students to continue exploring culture, identity, and creativity through literature. Thank you, Brian Young, for such a meaningful and memorable visit! 📚✨

Kinsey celebrated the incredible progress and growth of each of our amazing preschoolers at our promotions today. Each preschooler received a certificate of achievement or promotion as families joined in the celebrations of joyful accomplishments! We’ve had a year full of wonderful and memorable moments we will always treasure!
