"I saw the sign!" Open up your eyes, Flagstaff... yard signs are here!

If you're willing to show your support for my reelection campaign, I would be grateful to have a sign in your yard, window, business, or another visible spot where folks can see it!* Every sign helps share the message that this campaign is rooted in community, connection, and a shared belief in and vision for Flagstaff's future.

Your support in any form means so much to me, CommUnity. If you'd like a sign delivered, please email [email protected], comment below, or send me a message. Let's do this, Flagstaff... together!

🌲 Greater Flagstaff Region Seeks Public Input For its Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update 🌲

πŸ’» There will be a virtual public meeting on Thursday June 25, from 6 – 7 p.m. to solicit public input for the Greater Flagstaff Region Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) update. Attendees should register online in advance at https://swca.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_A2JCo-RzTO28PX9TQg1HxQ.

πŸ“„ The CWPP is a community-driven planning effort that will assess wildfire risk across the Greater Flagstaff Region and identify strategies to improve wildfire preparedness, mitigation, response coordination, and recovery.

ℹ️ The virtual meeting will provide an overview of the CWPP planning process, including how the plan is being updated, why the updated plan is important for the Greater Flagstaff Region, and how residents can participate. The meeting will also include wildfire preparedness information relevant to homeowners, such as defensible space concepts and actions that can help reduce wildfire risk around homes and neighborhoods. Members of the CWPP Core Team will be present during the virtual session and will be available to answer questions during the concluding question and answer segment.

πŸ“£ Public participation is a key component of the CWPP. Community feedback gathered during the meeting will help inform the plan update. A draft version of the updated CWPP is anticipated to be released for public review this fall (2026), which will also include additional opportunities for residents to submit comments before the plan is finalized.

πŸ‘₯ The CWPP Core Team (consisting of representatives from local, state, and federal stakeholders including the City of Flagstaff and the City of Sedona) is leading the plan update process. Input from local agencies, fire service partners, and community members will be incorporated into the updated plan. SWCA Environmental Consultants is serving as the technical consultant and assisting the Core Team with these efforts.

πŸ“§ Please contact Neil Chapman, City of Flagstaff Wildland Fire Captain, at [email protected], or the CWPP development team at [email protected] with any questions.

Pride is a deeply personal celebration for many in our CommUnity … including me. It is a celebration of love, authenticity, resilience, and the countless people who have worked to create a world where more of us can live openly and fully as ourselves.

It’s also a reminder that belonging matters.

Throughout my life, I’ve learned that people thrive when they know they are valued, welcomed, and seen. That belief shapes not only who I am, but how I serve. I believe every person deserves to know that they matter and that their voice has value.

Pride is an invitation to **all** of us to build a stronger community together, one where differences are not merely tolerated, but appreciated, and where every person has the opportunity to contribute, connect, and belong.

That vision is at the heart of our BeLOVEd CommUnity: a Flagstaff where we lead with compassion, make room for one another, and recognize that our collective strength comes from the many stories, identities, and experiences that make up our city.

To everyone celebrating this month, know that you are valued.

You are welcome.

You belong.

Happy Pride, Flagstaff.

Memorial Day is an important time to honor the service and sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms, our pursuit of justice, and our opportunities to live out the core values that define our communities and nation. Today, we honor the lives we've lost with our own commitment to not let their loss be in vain. Honoring Memorial Day, today and every day.

I've proudly signed onto the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge. This simple pledge is an important commitment to put Flagstaff's people and precious resources ahead of profits. The future of our community is too important to ignore current and future impacts to our water and air quality and safety. The current and future generations who call Flagstaff home deserve to be placed ahead of outside industries and special interests. Let's keep Flagstaff's water, air, resources, people, and future safe... together.

It was great getting to hang and chat with former Flagstaff Mayor (and forever mentor) Dr. Coral Evans at Mayan Winds this afternoon. Today I had the chance to have, follow up on, or set up future conversations on topics from the hospital to public safety to immigration enforcement, and beyond.

If you'd like to chat, please reach out at [email protected]

If you're willing to help carry a petition or do some canvassing, please also reach out!
