What can a bike make possible?

A way to get to work.
A medical appointment you don't have to miss.
A way to reach food, services and the resources you need.

Recently, members of United Way of Northern Arizona's Community Investment Team visited Community Assistance Teams of Flagstaff (CATs) and got an up-close look at how they're helping remove barriers for our unsheltered neighbors.

Through CATs on Wheels, donated and refurbished bicycles become reliable transportation for people who may otherwise have very limited options. From July 2025 through April 2026 alone, 210 bikes were distributed.🚲

And transportation is only part of the story.

During that same period, CATs' outreach services connected with 732 community members, providing food, hygiene support, showers and connections to other resources.

These are exactly the kinds of things our Community Investment partner visits allow us to see firsthand: how local organizations understand a need, meet people where they are and turn resources into tangible support.

Because sometimes strengthening a community starts with something as simple as helping someone get where they need to go. ❤️

That's community investment in action.

It can. 📚📬

Long before the first day of kindergarten, children are learning through the stories they hear, the pictures they explore and the time spent reading with the people they love.

That’s why United Way of Northern Arizona is proud to help bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to young children in our region.

Through the program, enrolled children receive a free, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home every month from birth to age five—putting books into little hands during some of their most important years of learning and development. ❤️

Because kindergarten readiness doesn’t begin on the first day of school. It starts years earlier—with access to books, programs like KinderCamp™ and all the little moments that help prepare a child to learn, imagine and thrive.

And later this month, we’ll show you just how far that path can go. 👀🎓

What if one act of generosity could reach far beyond one organization?

That’s the idea behind United Way of Northern Arizona. ❤️

When you support UWNA, you help strengthen an entire network of local organizations working to create more opportunities for youth, improve health and help families build greater financial security.

Your support can reach a child preparing for kindergarten.
A family navigating a difficult season.
A neighbor who needs access to food, shelter or critical resources.
A community working to recover after a crisis.

Different needs. Different organizations. One Northern Arizona—working together across Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties.

Because when generosity is united, its impact reaches further.

When you give to United Way of Northern Arizona, you're not giving to just one program.

You're investing in an entire network of organizations working together to help our communities thrive.

Through partnerships with local nonprofits across Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties, your support helps expand access to early childhood education, youth programs, family resources, financial stability, and so much more.

One gift.
Many partners.
Countless lives impacted.

That's the power of giving through United Way.

Because building a stronger Northern Arizona has never been about one organization—it takes all of us.

A book addressed especially to them.

A new story waiting in the mailbox every month.

A growing home library filled with possibilities.

That is the legacy of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library—and right now, more than 1,700 children under age five across Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties are part of it.

With support from our community, UWNA helps provide these children with free, age-appropriate books every month from birth until their fifth birthday.

If you are looking for a meaningful way to honor Dolly, help us continue the work that held such a special place in her heart: giving more children the opportunity to grow up reading, imagining and dreaming: https://andar.nazunitedway.org/comm/SinglePageRegPledge.jsp?SAPos=AO&SA=305813&DA=214536

Our hearts are with everyone mourning the loss of Dolly Parton—a beloved artist, storyteller, philanthropist and champion for children. ❤️

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, her extraordinary belief in the power of books has reached millions of children, including more than 1,700 children under age five across Coconino, Navajo and Apache counties who receive a free book in the mail each month.

Dolly believed every child should have the opportunity to dream more, learn more, care more and be more. We are deeply honored to help carry that legacy forward here in northern Arizona.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

When we invest in young people, we invest in the future of Northern Arizona.

We're grateful to Health First Foundation for its generous $23,750 grant supporting KinderCamp™ and the YES! Conference.

From helping children build a strong foundation as they prepare for kindergarten to empowering teens with the confidence and leadership skills to shape their communities, this investment supports youth at some of life's most important milestones.

Together, we're creating more opportunities for children and young adults to learn, lead, and thrive.

Thank you, Health First Foundation, for believing in the potential of Northern Arizona's next generation.

A United Way Campaign Pacesetter is a local business that kicks off the annual workplace giving campaign by leading with generosity and encouraging others to join in.

Their support helps fund programs that strengthen early childhood education, prepare youth for success, connect families with resources, and build healthier, more resilient communities across Northern Arizona.

Being a Pacesetter isn't about being the biggest company. It's about being among the first to say, "our community matters."

As this year's campaign approaches, we're grateful for the businesses that continue to lead by example and help create opportunities for every child and family to thrive.
