Bill Clark for Flagler County Commissioner

My name is Bill Clark and I am running for county commissioner, District 3 and I am a put First America, Candidate. I have years of experience in business and a Master’s in Accountancy. I am retired and If elected, I will be working full-time to represent Flagler County residents. I decided to run because I’m very concerned about the direction Flagler County is moving with its large developments and the oversight process to ensure responsible, and sustainable growth. I have not been endorsed by any developers or builders thus, I will be the people’s candidate and will be accountable to Flagler County residents only.

I lived in the Orlando area back in the 80s, it was a beautiful area to live. That is gone and everyone I know has moved out of the area. I don’t want to see that happen to Flagler. I purchased my home in Flagler Beach in 2010 because I was attracted to the small-town charm of old Florida. If elected, I will work with fellow commissioners to support ideas and strategies to:

1. Preserve and protect our natural landscapes, wetlands, estuaries and beaches, and protect
our “Legacy Trees.”

2. Continue to advance a coastal management plan to protect coastal properties through
beach renourishment, and explore grant money.

3. Encourage new developments to put aside open space areas to preserve part of the
ecosystem, end indiscriminate burning to retain air quality and push for select cutting policies to preserve our canopy.

4. Require Density and infrastructure impact studies before developments are approved to determine their impact on schools, infrastructure, traffic and potential flooding on
surrounding homes. Also, current residents should not be on the hook to pay impact fees resulting from new developments.

5. Facilitate county and private land purchases, and perpetual easements to unite wildlife corridors.

6. NO frivolous tax increases through responsible oversite.

7. Support our police and first responders with the resources they need.

8. Push State legislators for policies to reduce flood and home insurance

9. Support our small business community and Home Rule, self-governance.

10. The Sierra Club has endorsed me, a testament to my commitment to preservation.
