🍦✨ Second Grade Highlight! ✨🍨

Learning is sweet in 2nd Grade at BHP! 💜💛

As students wrapped up their learning about the states of matter and the five senses, our second grade teams took learning to a whole new level!

🍦 Team A enjoyed delicious coke floats!
🍨 Team B created tasty ice cream sundaes!

But this wasn’t just a sweet treat! Students put their senses to work as they observed and wrote about what they could see, taste, smell, touch, and hear. They used their observations to demonstrate what they know in a fun, hands-on way.

What a perfect way to make learning engaging, meaningful, and memorable! We love seeing our teachers turn the classroom into experiences that students will remember. ☀️📚

Way to go, 2nd Grade! Keep learning, keep exploring, and keep shining! 🌟💜💛

Classroom Highlight: Ms. Griffin’s First Grade!

📚 WIN time is all about targeted practice, and Ms. Griffin’s first graders are making learning fun!

✨ Students practiced letter recognition and letter sounds using dry-erase boards and Play-Doh to build, write, and reinforce their skills in a hands-on way.

💜 We love seeing our BHP students learning, growing, and having fun! Our teachers do an amazing job incorporating engaging actives and building student confidence along the way! Great job, Ms. Griffin!

We have our first school Random Act of Kindness initiative for the month of September to support those who are going through and who have been affected by childhood cancer. Please encourage your child to bring pennies (or any donation amount) to add to our school's jar. All donations will be made to the Childhood Cancer Awareness Group in Coffee County, which is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to families who have a child who is diagnosed with cancer in Ben Hill County. Thank you for your support!

(Post 2/2) Grade Level Highlight: First grade recently had SO much fun building numbers! 🥨🔢

“We used pretzel sticks to represent tens and mini marshmallows to represent ones. We practiced building numbers, counting tens and ones, and showing our understanding of place value in a hands-on way! ❤️📚”

Great job, to our first grade teachers for implementing opportunities for engagement and fun through hands-on learning! Yummy treats at the end of the lesson are fun as well! Our teachers are supporting building a strong mathematical foundation 💫
