City of Fitchburg

City of Fitchburg The City of Fitchburg is a community of about 41,000 people located in north-central Worcester County.

Despite being one of the largest cities in the county, Fitchburg retains its small town flavor. Fitchburg is noted for its old mills that line the Nashua River, its hilly topography and regional parks and its tightly knit neighborhood enclaves that, in many cases, still retain their ethnic identity. Among the City's cultural assets are the Fitchburg Art Museum, Fitchburg State University and the world famous annual Longsjo Classic bicycle race. Official website: http://www.fitchburgma.gov

🌧️ EVENT UPDATE: The Friends of Fitchburg Cemeteries’ “Poetry of the Bereaved” walking tour and paint-out at Dean Hill Cemetery has been cancelled due to heavy rain.

The event will be rescheduled, with a new date still to be determined.

This program will explore the stories and verses found on historic gravestones, including those of Revolutionary War veterans, young mothers and children, followed by a community paint-out with drawing supplies available.

Please stay tuned for the new date once it is announced.

Thank you to the Friends of Fitchburg Cemeteries and the Fitchburg Cultural Council for continuing to bring attention to the history found throughout our cemeteries.

The Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office has begun mailing copies of the 2026 Information for Voters Guide. The guide explains all nine ballot questions appearing on the November 3, 2026 State Election ballot.

We encourage every voter to take the time to read the guide and understand the questions to make an informed decision on each one.

At the back of the book, you’ll find a handy Voter Checklist where you can mark your choices for the ballot questions and candidate races. You may bring the checklist with you when voting on Election Day or during In-Person Early Voting…or take a photo of it beforehand for easy reference.

Just remember: Please take your checklist with you when you leave the voting booth!
