The OWL Campaign: Offering a World of Learning • Supporting the renovation & expansion of the Fitchburg Public Library 📚 Goal: $3.5M

🚧 The progress is revealing what’s ahead.

As walls go up and spaces become more defined, it’s becoming easier to see what the future Fitchburg Public Library, MA will offer.

The project will thoughtfully renovate the existing Wallace Library while expanding the building to create spaces that more efficiently, effectively, and safely serve our community.

Spaces to gather and connect.
Spaces to read, study, and learn.
Spaces for programs, creativity, and collaboration.
Spaces designed to meet the changing needs of our community for years to come.

What once existed only in plans and renderings is now taking shape all around us—and every bit of progress brings us closer to seeing these spaces filled with the people they were designed for. 📚

There is still work ahead, but what was once shown only in plans and renderings is becoming a very real place—a library designed for learning, discovery, connection, and community.

Students from the welding and autobody programs at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School built a custom bookshelf shaped like the word READ for our Legacy of Learning campaign! Donor names will appear as handcrafted “book spines” created by Eagle Trophy .

This project for Fitchburg Public Library, MA and the City of Fitchburg is pure community creativity and collaboration at its finest! 🤝

Today, walls have risen, windows are in place, brickwork is transforming the exterior, and with every passing week, the future

Fitchburg Public Library, MA comes into clearer focus.
As we continue to Offer a World of Learning to all, we're reminded that every beam, every brick, and every new space brings us one step closer to welcoming the community through these doors.

Brick by brick 🏗

You may have noticed the purple and gray materials on the exterior of the new addition. The purple is the sheathing, and the gray is the air-and-vapor barrier (AVB). The masonry team is now installing the brick exterior, working their way around the building as the AVB is finished.
