🚜💙 Building Culture Through Community 💙🚜
One of the most important things we can invest in as a city is our culture.
DPW Day is more than just trucks, equipment, and demonstrations. It is an opportunity to strengthen a culture of community pride, public service, respect, and appreciation for the people who work every day to keep Fitchburg running.
Culture is built when neighbors come together, when children learn about the people who serve their community, and when we create opportunities for positive interactions between residents and City employees. It is built when we celebrate teamwork, recognize hard work, and inspire the next generation to take pride in their city.
Through grant funding and community partnerships, DPW Day provides a free, family-friendly event that helps foster civic engagement, education, and community connection. It allows residents to see firsthand the value of public service while creating lasting memories for families and children.
A strong community isn't built by infrastructure alone it is built by the culture we create together. Events like DPW Day help cultivate that culture by bringing people together, encouraging appreciation, and reinforcing the sense of pride that makes Fitchburg a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
We look forward to celebrating our community and the dedicated men and women of the Department of Public Works, Fitchburg Police Department, City of Fitchburg Board of Health, Fitchburg Public Schools, Fitchburg Fire Department and so many other City of Fitchburg employees and departments who help make it possible every day.
