The City of Fitchburg is a community of about 41,000 people located in north-central Worcester County. Despite being one of the largest cities in the county, Fitchburg retains its small town flavor.

Jay Mor, the contractor taking down the properties in the city, is using a hydrant on Main St. at Willow St. This may cause discolored water in the area.

We have shut the water main off at Connors at Patton St. to repair a hydrant valve. We have notified the residents.

Our employees scoping out the leak last night. The leak was located at the bottom of a utility pole, which made the repair much more difficult. Thank you to our employees for working so hard and for the assistance from DPW and wastewater. Also thank you to Michelle Marino from Fitchburg Veterans Dept for bringing hot coffee to our crew.

We have a water main break on Oak Hill Rd. We have shut the main down from 174 Oakhill Rd. up to Pershing St. We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. We are trying to repair it as quickly as possible.

A fire at 58 Connors St. this morning has stirred up system and there is discolored water in the area. It will clear up.

We have another water main break. We have an 8" main break on Lunenburg St. @ Linwood St. Some residents on Linwood and Summit will be without water.

The repair on Spruce has been made and water has been restored. There may be discolored water in the area.

We have been trying to locate a leak on Spruce St. for a good part of the day. We have finally located it. The main is shut down and we are working on the repair. Please be patient while our crew works in the cold and the darkness making this repair.

Water pipes like to be kept warm. As the temperature drops, remember that pipes can freeze in the cold. Frozen pipes are costly.
If you do have frozen pipes and need us to shut the water off in the street you can call us 24 hours a day at 978-345-9618. There is a charge for the service call.
