The Way of The Arc Fundamental #30 Be obsessive about organization.

No matter how compassionate you are, if you can’t manage multiple issues, tasks, and promises, you won’t be a superstar. Use good systems to plan your work and to prioritize and track outstanding issues and responsibilities.

🌊🎨 The Day Hab crew has officially dove headfirst into ocean-themed art, and the creativity is making waves!

From colorful sea creatures to underwater masterpieces, our participants have been busy exploring the ocean through art while strengthening fine motor skills, sensory processing, hand-eye coordination, and imagination. Every brushstroke, sponge stamp, and creative touch is more than just fun—it's a chance to build important skills through hands-on therapeutic experiences.

Fundamental 29- Think Team First by Jennifer Gordon

Be there for each other, and provide rigorous support, including honest and direct feedback. Don't let your own ego or personal agenda get in the way of doing what's best for the client or the team. Be willing to step into another role or help a co-worker when that's what's required for success. Consider how your actions impact your teammates. Together, we make a bigger difference.

Our Collective Strength

Every day, we have an opportunity to do something bigger than ourselves. The true strength of our work comes not from individual efforts alone, but from how we show up for one another.

Let’s commit to thinking team first—to being present, supportive, and dependable for our colleagues. Real teamwork means offering honest, direct feedback with respect and care, knowing it helps all of us grow stronger together.

We must also be mindful of what can quietly hold us back. When we set aside ego and personal agendas, we create space to focus on what truly matters: delivering the best outcomes for our clients and our team.

There will be times when success calls us outside of our usual roles. In those moments, be willing to step in, lend a hand, and support a teammate. Flexibility and collaboration are what turn challenges into achievements.

Pause and consider the impact of your actions—not just on your own work, but on the people around you. Every choice we make contributes to the environment we build together.

Because when we support one another, trust one another, and work as one team, we don’t just meet expectations—we exceed them.

Together, we make a bigger difference.

☀️🌸 What a beautiful day at Day Hab! 🌸☀️
Yesterday we enjoyed some fun in the sun while staying cool in the shade under our umbrella picnic table! 😎🌳 We spent time watering our flowers, coloring outdoors, and soaking up the fresh air and beautiful weather.
To top off a wonderful day, we took a walk to one of our favorite community spots for cookies and coffee! 🍪☕ There’s nothing better than enjoying good treats, great company, and a little sunshine.
Days like these remind us how important it is to get outside, connect with our community, and enjoy the simple things that make us smile. 💙✨

🌸🎨 Dayhab explored creativity and sensory fun in some unique ways! 💕✨

Our friends enjoyed relaxing with a vibrating heartbeat pillow, providing soothing sensory input and a calming experience. We also got creative with finger painting beautiful flowers—but with a twist! Instead of traditional paintbrushes, we used forks and cotton balls to create our masterpieces. 🌼🖌️

Just like art, people come in many different forms, styles, and abilities. This activity reminded us that beautiful things can be created in so many unique ways, and that's what makes each of us special. 💜🌷
We loved seeing everyone's creativity bloom! 🌸😊

The Way of The Arc Fundamental #28 by Festina Julue-Danso

Going the extra mile means consistently giving our best effort, even when no one is watching. It is about taking pride in our responsibilities, paying attention to details, and being willing to do a little more than what is expected. When we approach each task with dedication and a positive attitude, we contribute to a culture of excellence that benefits everyone around us.

People depend on us every day to perform our jobs with professionalism and care. Whether serving our individuals, supporting coworkers, or completing important tasks, our actions have a direct impact on others. By being reliable, proactive, and willing to help when needed, we build trust and demonstrate our commitment to the team's success. Small acts of extra effort can make a significant difference in the quality of service and support we provide.

Going the extra mile is not just about working harder; it is about working with purpose and integrity. It means looking for opportunities to improve, solve problems, and support others without being asked. When each of us brings our best every day, we strengthen our organization, inspire those around us, and help create an environment where everyone can succeed. Excellence is built one step at a time, and every extra step matters.

Bio:
My name is Festina and I’ve worked here at The Arc for about 10 years in the residential department. The most rewarding part of my job is interacting with the individuals I support. Outside of work, I’m kept busy with my family. I am an active member of my local community by serving on the board of 2 organizations. I also serve as President for another. I love giving back and going the extra mile is something I do naturally.
