It has just been revealed that the opening act for the 5-15 The Who Concert is going to be:

Walt Medlock - guitar and vocals
Mike Simkin - drums
Mark Neal - bass
Jackson Medlock - guitar and vocals
Evan Murray - guitar and vocals
Joe Russell - keyboards

Make sure that you are in your seats prior to 7:00 pm on 5-15 to ensure that we give this local band the due they deserve...

The tragedy at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston has reminded many of another crowd catastrophe that occurred decades ago.

Was asked by a reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer - Jeanne Houck - about our thoughts on the Houston, Texas concert. Here was my reply on behalf of the entire PEM Family and extended PEM Family:

Jeanne:

The Astroworld calamity brought all of us in The P.E.M. Memorial and our extended P.E.M. family directly back to December 3, 1979.

It has made us relive the events of that horrific night…

The agony of waiting, wondering and hoping that our families and friends were safe.
The unknowing…

Our hearts are broken for those families and survivors in Houston.
We know intimately what they are going through right now.
It is a pain that never ever goes away…

It is a shame that venues, promotors and artists have not learned the lesson of December 3, 1979 as festival seating and concerts are back.

These types of horrific situations will continue to occur until festival seating and concerts are again banned forever.

We are hosting The P.E.M. Memorial on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Finneytown High School to remember our 11 lost friends.

Please join us if you can for this night of love and healing…

The P.E.M. Memorial Committee is excited to announce that McNasty's Food Truck will be on-site for The P.E.M. Memorial this year.

They will be providing 250 meals - NO COST for The P.E.M. Memorial attendees!!!

Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and Pulled Pork sandwiches!!!

Those who attended the 2019 P.E.M. Memorial will remember the absolutely FABULOUS food McNasty's provided that evening...

A BIRTHDAY SERENADE FOR MRS. WIMMER!!!

Finneytown Alumni-our beloved Mrs. Wimmer is about to celebrate her 90th Birthday

Let's make her day a really special one...

Do you have a story about Cottonwood Kids or Junior High Choirs to tell or the impact that Mrs. Wimmer had on you through singing and music???

Her daughter Mindy Wimmer Voss and I are working to put together a unique surprise for her through which we are asking for your participation in whatever way is the easiest for you:

1) Handwrite a birthday note
2) E-mail your personal story
3) Create and e-mail a video on your phone/device which tells your personal story as well as singing her a brief song (or her special warm-up exercises)
4) Participate Tuesday, June 15, 2021 @ 7:00 pm...where a group of us will meet and perform a song (Happy Birthday) or two together live and in person outside her front door

We all value the foundation of learning and community we enjoyed growing up in Finneytown.

PEM Family - a reminder that the deadline for Finneytown High School Seniors (Class of 2021) to apply for The P.E.M. Memorial Scholarship is April 1, 2021.

The applicant must major or minor in the fields of music and/or the arts in college.
