Second grade wrapped up their unit on Ancient Greece by hosting their very own Olympics! 🏅 Students competed in an event of their choice, hoping to bring home the gold. Events included the yard dash, relay race, long jump, discus throw, javelin throw, and Olympic rings.
After all the events, they came together to celebrate the amazing athletes and recognize those who earned gold, silver, and bronze medals. What a fun way to bring learning about Ancient Greece to life!

🍂❤️ What a fun family night! Thank you to all the families who were able to come out tonight and enjoy an evening full of fall fun! We had a great time playing pumpkin tic-tac-toe, making ghost suckers, spreading kindness by decorating placemats, getting creative while decorating pumpkins, and so much more. 🎃👻
It was wonderful to see our families spending time together, making memories, and enjoying all the fun activities. Thank you for being part of such a special evening! We are so grateful for our amazing Whittier families! 🍁🧡

🇺🇸 What an amazing way to wrap up our Citizenship Unit! 🇺🇸
Our second graders have been learning all about what it means to be a good citizen and a good leader—both inside and outside of school. We talked about showing respect, making responsible choices, following rules and laws, helping others, and doing our part to make our community a better place.

To finish our unit, we were so lucky to have Mayor Muryn come and speak with our second graders! She shared so much with us about being good citizens and how we can make a difference right here in Findlay, Ohio. Our students learned so much and enjoyed hearing about the important role each of us can play in our community.

We are so proud of our second graders and the leaders they are becoming! ❤️💙 They are learning that even small acts of kindness, respect, and responsibility can make a BIG difference!

Get those walking shoes ready! Our Whittier Wilson Vance PTO Walk-a-Thon kicks off NEXT MONDAY! 🎉

For our Whittier students, the Walk-a-Thon will run from Monday through the following Monday, with each class participating during their regularly scheduled PE class.
This is a fun way for our students to get moving, enjoy some time together, and help raise money to support Whittier and Wilson Vance students and teachers! 💙
How can you help?
Families and friends can make a one-time donation to support the Walk-a-Thon.
All proceeds directly benefit the students and teachers of Whittier and Wilson Vance Schools.
