Help Us Save a Life and Bring Home the Title!!

I am asking the people of Hancock County to join us and other community first responder agencies for a blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Findlay Fire Station 4 in the STRICT Center (7047 County Road 236, Findlay, Ohio).
Your willingness to step up and be a servant leader by donating blood will certainly save a life, maybe for someone you know! If you choose to join us, be sure to mention that you are joining team Hancock County Sheriff, Findlay Police, Findlay Fire or Pleasant McComb Portage Joint Ambulance District. By doing so, you can help your first responder agency take the title for this Battle of the Badges!
Be sure to schedule your appointment soon, we need 19 more registrants to make this drive a success!! You can register yourself at redcrossblood.org (sponsor code FHCFirstResponders), call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767), or scan the QR code on the attached flyer.

SCAM ALERT

Our office has received phone calls in regard to a scam. The scammer claims to be a member of our office and demands money to avoid going to jail. The scammer gives one of several reasons for calling, including:

for missing jury duty
failing to report for federal summons
to pay to have a warrant removed

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office will never call and ask for money over the phone. Please use caution when answering the phone, and do not provide payments or personal information over the phone.

The 2026 Hancock County Fair is Just One Day Away!!

Good afternoon, Hancock County!
The time has finally come! The Hancock County Fair has returned and begins on September 1, 2026!! All of us here at the Sheriff's Office are excited to see everyone for another great week of fair events!
I would like to remind you of some basic safety tips for attending large public events:

Keep young children close
Establish a meeting location, just in case you get separated
Keep your personal belongings secure
Remain self aware of your surroundings
Please contact a Deputy Sheriff or Fair Official if you see something that doesn’t look right.

A little preparation can go a long way in making sure we all have a safe and enjoyable visit to the fair!
This year, we are bringing back the Child ID Card program (see the attached schedule). This was made possible through a grant received through the Justice for Sierah organization. These cards can provide vital information that can be immediately available should a child ever become missing. The best part…ITS FREE!!
To make your visit even easier, parents or guardians can pre fill out their child’s information by visiting the attached link and by submitting it to our email listed on the form. If you do not have this type of access, no worries! We have forms that you can fill out at the fair!!

Today we celebrate Sergeant Jason Seem on his retirement from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. Jason started with the Sheriff’s Office in September of 2000 and has spent the past 26 years serving our office and the Hancock County community.
Over the years, Jason has served in many different roles within the Sheriff’s Office and has been a valued part of our team. We appreciate his hard work, dedication, and the many years he has given to our office.
Congratulations on your retirement, Jason! We wish you all the best and hope you enjoy every minute of your much-deserved retirement!
