Support Family Resource Center: Par for a Purpose Charity Golf Scramble

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office encourages our community to support the 1st Annual “Par for a Purpose” Charity Golf Scramble benefiting the Family Resource Center.
Friday, June 5, 2026 at the Hidden Creek Golf Club (6245 Sugar Creek Rd, Lima, OH 45801)
Family Resource Center plays a vital role in strengthening lives throughout our community by providing mental health and addiction counseling, youth-focused mental health services, crisis intervention, assessment, care coordination, and recovery support.
Supporting mental health is not just important—it is essential to the well-being and safety of our families, schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. When we invest in mental health services, we help provide hope, healing, stability, and support to those who need it most.
Sheriff Michael A. Cortez and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office are grateful for the collaboration, partnership, and support Family Resource Center continues to provide to our agency and to the people of Hancock County. Their work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adults, and families every day.
We urge individuals, businesses, and community partners to participate in this very worthy cause and help support community mental health right here at home.

Hancock County Sheriff's Office honors the fallen this Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation.
Memorial Day is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy came at a great cost. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude and support to the families and loved ones who continue to carry their loss.
As we gather with family and friends, we ask our community to take time to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who never returned home.
Today, and every day, we honor them. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Sheriff Michael Cortez Gives Notice of Recognition and Appreciation to National Police Week

As Sheriff, I want to take a moment to recognize National Police Week and express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the men and women who serve in law enforcement.
