Andrew County PWSD #3

Andrew County PWSD #3 Public Water Supply District #3 in Fillmore, MO. We serve areas NW of Savannah, around Fillmore, Rosendale and Bolckow.

05/22/2024

The meter change out program will start on Tuesday, May 28th. Rural Water Service trucks will be in the area for the next 2 to 3 weeks to replace all the meters in the system. Changing your meter will require turning your water off for up to 15 minutes. If you have any air in your lines, you can run water for a few minutes and it should clear up.

Please leave the Blue Flags next to your meter pit. These will be removed after the new meter is installed. The new lids have an antenna under the lid, so we ask that you do not sit anything on top of the lid.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time. Please call the office at 816-487-4025 or our operator at 816-244-5360 with any questions.

PWSD # 3 of Andrew County will be under a Boil Advisory due to the City of Savannah having a main break. Some areas of our District have experienced low pressure or no water. We will advise you when the Boil Advisory has been lifted.

Anyone served by the District should observe the following precautions.

1. Boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use. Use only boiled water for drinking, diluting fruit juices, and all other food preparation.

2. Do not use ice, made during the advisory, from a household automatic ice maker. If ice is needed, use water that has been boiled.

3. Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.

4. Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please give the office a call with any questions at 816-487-4025.

Thank you.

PWSD #3 will be flushing our water mains this September and October. During the flushing of the water mains in your area, you may notice a temporary reduction of water pressure or some discoloration in your tap water. This discoloration condition is not harmful. To clear up your water follow these instructions: (1) go to an outside hydrant or faucet in the lowest level of your home, like a basement utility sink or first-floor bathtub. (2) Remove the screen or aerator from the faucet. (3) Temporarily bypass any whole home water softeners or filters. (4) Run the cold water only at full force for a few minutes until the water clears. (5) Once water is clear, replace the faucet screen/ aerator and put any bypassed filters or softeners back in service (if applicable). If you have lower pressure than usual at a faucet, remove the screen or aerator to check if it's clogged. If your water doesn’t clear after a few minutes, call our Water Operator at 816-244-5360.

Flushing moves water more quickly from the treatment plant to your tap, reducing the “water age” of your tap water. Periodic or routine flushing is widely used to bring freshly treated water into distant parts of our distribution system. This helps us maintain adequate residuals of free chlorine in all parts of the distribution system and clean deposits out of the pipes which keeps the water safe to drink as it moves from the treatment plant to your tap.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is an important part of our system maintenance

Thank you and have a great day.
