Fire attack. Our Thursday night drills this month are focused on building our tactics for residential single family structure fires. Tactics we know are important but building a teams confidence and working as single coordinated unit is also key. Being a volunteer district has many variables from the number of members participating each week to limited training hours available and finally the number of significant annual calls. I’m sure there many more that we could mention. It is a process but I’m proud of our dedicated members for sticking with it making a difference in their community they live in. “Moving forward building a team”

Filer Fire is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the St. Luke’s mobile mammogram unit on October 20th. October is breast cancer awareness month and we look forward to having those interested come out for this important screening. Early detection saves lives!!

Foundation 911. This foundation provides surplus fire equipment to fire departments in Mexico. Filer Fire was happy to be able to supply this organization with equipment we were no longer using. Very humbling to see their needs. We feel very fortunate for what equipment we are provided with.

A few of our EMS and firefighters where able to provide service for the air show this weekend. We love being part of the magic valley community. The benefit was being up close to the action. Thanks to FF Debbie Cline for the great photos.

What a great evening with the community and our members. We were able to push in the new fire engine and dedicate it into service. Thanks to everyone who participated. Moving forward building a team.

Please come and join us as we celebrate the push in ceremony of our new fire engine. Signifying that it is ready for service. Kind of a ribbon cutting for a fire engine. August 14th @ 6PM. Public is welcome.

Look what showed up today. We are excited to have are new rig in the house. It will take sometime to get it loaded and ready for service. When that time comes we will set a time for a push in ceremony. The ceremony indicates that the new engine is ready to provide service the community and our appreciation to the community for the ability to purchase up to date and safe equipment for our members.

We will set that date and time for the ceremony in the evening and will provide burgers and dogs for any one who wants to attend. Public is encouraged to attend.

Buhl Sagebrush Days. Huge parade and turnout. What a great event. Count us in every year. Buhl should be proud. And look our 1940 American laFrance Engine. No smoke just go. Thanks Debbie cline for the photos.

The is one of Filer Fire Districts original fire engines. It’s a 1940 Ford V8 made by American LaFrance Co. it runs the body is solid. In fact we put it in the Buhl Sagebrush Days parade and it didn’t overheat. We are looking to bring it back to its original luster from the bottom to the top. This rig has a legacy of sacrifice from its purchase to its final operational days running calls. If you would be interested in helping us bring it back to its glory days please email me @ [email protected]. From Monetary donation to paint and body work, new tires. Rebuilding appliances, pump, valves, nozzles If you have equipment from that era you would be willing to donate
We are looking for a wood fire ladder. Honestly there’s a long list of work and restoration that needs to be done. This pride and history is worth preserving.
