City of Fife, Washington

City of Fife, Washington Fife is a small town with big city opportunities. Fife is also a wonderful town to call home. Fife was founded in 1957 and was named after William J.

Attention travelers! A new route is opening in Pierce County! WSDOT is completing final touches on the first two miles of the SR 167 Completion Project, that will connect I-5 in Fife to SR 509 near the Port of Tacoma.

Crews will open the expressway by 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. Interchanges to access the expressway are available at I-5, 54th Avenue East, and SR 509. The I-5 connection is a diverging diamond interchange. Please use caution while navigating the new expressway so you can familiarize yourself with this new route. You can watch this video to see more about how the diverging diamond interchange will work and how to safely drive on it. http://bit.ly/3Rqlvxx

While the expressway is a tolled facility, tolls will not be collected until December. Until then, drivers have the opportunity to try the new expressway for free and experience the benefits of this new travel option before tolling begins.

For more information: Log on to the SR 167 Completion project website to learn more about the project. Get in touch with the project team via the construction hotline at 253- 220-5009, or project inbox at [email protected].
