🌟 Happy Friday from Imperial! 🌟
What a fun and productive week we had! 💙 Even with the heat keeping us indoors quite a bit, we still found plenty of ways to learn, grow, have fun, and get out into the community! ☀️
We took trips to Walmart to practice grocery shopping and picking up supplies and even picked out a NEW RUG for Imperial! 🛒✨ We also enjoyed shopping at our very own Lotus Cafe, using the Lotus Loot we earned for working hard throughout the week. 💰☕️
Creativity was in full swing as we made lots of jewelry, painted rocks, and even created cosmic brownie ice cream sandwiches! 🍨🍫🎨
We headed to the West County Center mall for some walking and enjoyed lunch in the food court, where everyone had the opportunity to practice important independence skills by ordering and paying for their own food. 👏🏼
Our learning goals were a big focus this week! ✏️ We started practicing writing our names in cursive and began working on recalling our addresses and phone numbers, important skills that help build confidence, independence, and safety. 📚🏠📱
We also played a game called “The Touch,” which challenged us to explore what it feels like to not be able to see and rely only on our sense of touch to find different objects. What a great way to practice sensory awareness, problem-solving, and understanding different perspectives! 🤲🏼
We had so much fun rocking out with Chloe from Positive Note Music Therapy, LLC for music therapy this week. She always brings so much joy to our center.
And, of course, we ended the week with BOWLING! 🎳 We had so much fun cheering each other on and enjoying some time out in the community!
Another week filled with fun, friendship, independence, and so many life skills! 💙 We are so proud of everyone for working hard, trying new things, and continuing to grow each week!
