With the General Election just around the corner, it is time to begin planning for how you intend to vote Tuesday, November 3rd. Wells County encourages all eligible voters to cast your ballot in person on Election Day. We will have voting centers in Bowdon (Fire Hall), Fessenden (Festival Hall) and Harvey (Armory), and polls will be open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Regardless of where you reside in the county, you may vote at any one of the three voting center sites on Election Day.

If you are unable to get to the polls, voting absentee is the next best thing to being there. To obtain a ballot, you must first complete an absentee application with the Wells County Auditor’s Office. Those who completed an absentee application for the June Primary Election and checked the General Election box need not complete another application.

To obtain an application, please contact Daniel Stutlien in the Wells County Auditor’s Office. The most efficient way to obtain your application is to text your request to 701-341-0600, or you may e-mail [email protected]. Be sure to share your full name and address. Application requests will be fulfilled as quickly as possible.

Don’t settle for standing on the sidelines ~ Make your plan and VOTE in the November 3rd General Election!

Wells County is in the final stages of the process of developing a budget for 2027. While we are approximately a month away from formal adoption of the budget, a budget will be presented to the Commission at their meeting Tuesday, September 8th.

You may access the budget as it will be presented Tuesday by clicking on the link below. The Budget Hearing will be held in conjunction with the October Meeting of the WC Commission scheduled for 8:00 AM Tuesday, October 6th, in the KTL Building.

While there is a significant increase in the WC budget due to the passage of a ballot measure in the June Primary to fund the WC Road Dept., this budget otherwise takes a 0% increase under the caps established during the last legislative session.

If you have questions on the budget being presented, you may contact WC Auditor, Daniel Stutlien.
