If you or someone you know has helped make Ferndale better through health, human services, public art, education, or other efforts, we have a great grant opportunity to share!

⭐ The Ferndale Community Foundation is offering $2,500 grants (from a total of $25,000) to 501(c)(3) organizations whose projects have made a real difference in Ferndale. Please note that funding is not available for general operations or expenses.

⭐ Applications are due on Monday, November 2, 2026. Please review the full guidelines and apply at bit.ly/46WNGbG. You can email your application to [email protected] or mail it to Ferndale City Hall at 300 E. Nine Mile Road.

Wishing everyone in Ferndale an early Happy Labor Day! 💚

❇️ Ferndale City Hall will be closed for the holiday on Monday, September 7, 2026.

❇️ Trash and recycling pickup will take place one day later than usual for the rest of the week.

❇️ The Splash Pad at Martin Road Park will close for the season.

❇️ Parking will be free in Downtown Ferndale.

❇️ Fireworks are permitted on the Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day until 11:45 p.m. each day.

This is a very important reminder from SOCRRA and Car Trucking, Incorporated to ensure you dispose of batteries properly. Improper disposal can put our sanitation workers, vehicles, and recycling facility at risk. Please help keep everyone safe by recycling your batteries correctly!

☢️ Batteries are Household Hazardous Waste and should be taken to the SOCRRA facility at 995 Coolidge Hwy, Troy, MI 48084. You can make an appointment at socrra.org/.

✳️ Not sure how to dispose of something specific? Use SOCRRA’s Waste Wizard tool at socrra.org/waste-wizard. Just search for your item and follow the disposal instructions.

🚦⚠️ TRAFFIC LIGHT OUTAGES: Storm damage has caused significant power outages in the southwest area of the City. Several traffic lights are out, and crews will work to repair them as soon as possible. Please proceed with caution.

Those without power are encouraged to report their property and check their property's status at dteenergy.com.

🌲 The Public Works Department (DPW) is also working to clear fallen branches throughout the City. Please call DPW at 248-546-2519 or make a SeeClickFix report at bit.ly/ferndalescf to report a tree concern.
