A couple of invitations from State Senate candidate Natalie Price for tomorrow. From 1:30 to 3pm will be friendbanking for Abdul in Ferndale. Bring your phone and your contact list, help reach out to the people who already trust us. A personal ask from a friend moves more votes than any ad ever will.

I've posted before about the fundraiser at Rock & Brews which will follow the canvas. Natalie wants to let folks know that you need not make a donation to attend this event. We want a huge turnout of citizens of Ferndale and Pleasant Ridge, to show their confidence in State Senator Daniel Camilleri in his campaign for re-election. Both Daniel and Natalie are gearing up to take on leadership roles in the State Senate; and a large showing tomorrow will be invaluable.

Flyers for both events are included in this post.

Good almost-afternoon, fellow Democrats! This is to let you know that this Thursday's club meeting has been cancelled. Your Chair has a family member who has been hospitalized with a serious medical emergency. Prayers and good wishes for their recovery are greatly appreciated.

Our next club meeting will take place on January 28 (location TBD). Please also mark your calendars for December 10, the date of our club's winter social. More details will be forthcoming.

In the meantime, please continue doing whatever you can to help ensure a landslide Democratic/progressive victory in November! Here is an ask from Victoria King's campaign:

We are less than 15 days away from Election Day and less than 5 days away from the start of early voting! The time to get organized, spread the word, and show up is NOW!

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED! We need your help placing campaign signs and being present at Early Voting and Election Day precinct locations.

Every volunteer, every sign, and every hour makes a difference. We cannot do this alone — we need YOU! Whether you can give a few hours or a full day, your time and commitment are valuable.

Let’s finish strong! If you’re available to volunteer, please use this Google doc link to answer questions so we can coordinate locations and schedules.

Please share with your network and encourage them to Vote for Victoria King for circuit court judge.

Thank you in advance for your assistance,

The Elect Victoria King for Judge Committee

Natalie Price is hosting a fundraiser for Democratic candidates in heavily-contested races on October 25. Joining her is special guest State Senator Darrin Camilleri. The link to register/donate is below.

Good morning, fellow Democrats! Our final club meeting for this calendar year is scheduled for October 28 at 7:00 PM. Location is TBD; but there will be a Zoom option regardless. (The Zoom link will be sent out a few days before the meeting.)

Our guest speakers are:
Kelly Farrah, President of the Ferndale Area District Library Board
Charlie Cavell, our County Commissioner

This meeting takes place two days before the start of in-person early voting. Citizens of Ferndale may vote in person between October 24 and November 1 at the Hazel Park Community Center, located at 620 W. Woodward Heights Blvd. in Hazel Park.

Meanwhile, some progress has been made distributing slate cards for our two cities. But we have a huge number of cards remaining! Everyone knows about the candidates at the top of the ballot. But not everyone knows about the local candidates; those running in nonpartisan races; or the two major state ballot proposals. These slate cards will help inform Lean Democrats and Independent voters, whom we need to ensure a Democratic victory in our state legislature and Democratic representation in Congress. Even a few hours’ time leaving these slate cards at the homes of these voters will help. Please contact me by phone (313-283-7578) or email ([email protected]) if you can assist with this project.

I'm sure inquiring minds want to know whether the Ferndale Area Democrats will have a Bar Night this week. The answer is no. Going forward, our Bar Nights will be on a quarterly basis instead of monthly. Our next Bar Night (also our winter holiday social event) will take place on December 10 (location TBD.) We will stick with the second Tuesday of the month in question; so the first Bar Night in 2027 will take place on March 11.

BUT, if you are interested in a social event this Thursday, a watch party of the debate between Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers is taking place at the Plumbers Local Union 98, located at 555 Horace Brown Drive in Madison Heights. Here is the link to register:
https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/1050924/

I've signed up to attend! I hope to see many folks from Ferndale
and Pleasant Ridge there.

On Thursday, October 8, Abdul El-Sayed faces Mike Rogers in the first general-election debate for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat, and we're watching together! This race could decide control of the U.S. Senate, and there will be a lot of noise about what happened on that stage. The people your friends a...

Good morning, fellow Democrats! This morning I am posting videos of both last month's and yesterday's FAD meetings. The first one is from August and has some very important information to consider in the races for the Ferndale School Board and the OCC Trustees -- definitely view this one before going to the second one.

The Zoom link below is for the recording from last night's meeting (passcode is +231WFnm).

Good morning, fellow Democrats! Here is your friendly reminder of our club meeting this Thursday at 7:00 PM. We will for sure be meeting in person, at 215W (located 215 W. 9 Mile Road next to Soho). If you are a newly-elected precinct delegate, this meeting is your chance to pick up your lanyard and name badge (very useful for when you go canvassing!).

Please enter through the door on the back patio; or, if you are out front, enter through Soho's front entrance and go through to the back.

Free pizza will be provided; beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are available for purchase at Soho.

If you are unable to attend in person, the Zoom link and other information for joining the meeting online are at the end of this message.

Charlie Cavell, our County Commissioner, will speak early in the meeting about the vote of the Oakland County Commission to approve funding for Planned Parenthood in Ferndale to continue working in conjunction with Oakland County Health Services. Elected officials serving Ferndale and Pleasant Ridge, as well as candidates for positions which serve our two cities, are also welcome to speak briefly.

Good afternoon, fellow Democrats! Below is a message from Natalie Price, State Senate candidate in Michigan’s 10th Senate District.

“Join State Rep. Natalie Price for a virtual phonebank to support Kevin Hertel for State Senate!

Each Thursday evening, we gather on Zoom and then call voters across Senate District 12 to talk about the issues that matter most to Michigan families — lowering costs, investing in public education, protecting Lake St. Clair, and delivering real results for our communities.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or phonebanking for the first time, every call matters as this is one of the most competitive state senate races in Michigan, and we need your help to defend this seat and our Democratic majority.”

Good afternoon, fellow Democrats! A couple of announcements. First: our monthly club meeting is scheduled for September 24 at 7:00 PM. Location is TBD. If we are unable to get a space to meet physically, we will meet via Zoom. The link and other information for tuning in are at the end of this message.

Our County Commissioner Charlie Cavell is scheduled to speak at the meeting about the recent vote of the County Commission to approve funding to Planned Parenthood in Ferndale (the continuation of a partnership with Oakland County Health Services). We hope to also have a board member of the Ferndale Area District Library speak about the plans for using the funding which was approved in the August primary.

Second: Rank MI Vote would like to invite members of the Ferndale Area Democrats to join them, their endorsed candidates, and pro-democracy organizations at the first-ever Michigan Democracy Fair and Rally on Sunday, September 27 from 1-5pm.

You may visit https://rankmivote.org/fair to RSVP. Please visit https://rankmivote.org/endorsements for a complete, up-to-date list of Rank MI Vote PAC's endorsed candidates.
