Residents in the Fenton, Linden, and Fenton Township communities:

There was some misinformation being shared on social media about the LAFF Pathway construction and installation. Those comments have been edited, but for further clarification:

The LAFF Pathway being constructed on Silver Lake Road that extends from the City of Fenton, through Fenton Township, and ends in the City of Linden, is NOT open for public use at this time. The entirety of the Pathway is still in a construction zone. Please do not enter the construction zone to access the portions of the Pathway that appear complete. Work is ongoing and the public will be notified when it is safe for travel after construction has ended.

The mobile stop lights located on Silver Lake Road in this construction zone will remain up until the work around the lake on the Pathway is completed. We are aware that there are other road projects taking place to the west that are also causing congestion. Since the start of this project there have been many vehicles continuing to pass through the construction zone when the mobile stop lights are red, causing daily near head-on collisions, and forcing vehicles to have to swerve into the construction zone.

There are detours around this project to help motorists avoid delays when traveling between Fenton and Linden. Please utilize them during your commute. For motorists traveling on Silver Lake Road, please remember that all traffic laws apply in construction sites. Continuing to proceed when the light is red is an enforceable traffic violation.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while work continues in this area, and please be mindful of your actions when traveling through the construction zone.
