Great Rivers Greenway, in cooperation with the cities of Kirkwood and Fenton, is exploring the possibility of a walking and biking bridge over the Meramec River between Unger County Park in Fenton and Greentree Park in Kirkwood. In addition to these two parks, this bridge would connect two sections of the Meramec Greenway on either side of the river.
The first step is to review potential crossing locations and preliminary bridge design options. The study will consider community input, greenway user experience, and technical factors to evaluate feasible options and verify that a greenway bridge could meet the necessary requirements along this regulated floodway.
