As we head into the Fourth of July season, here’s a friendly reminder that fireworks that leave the ground are illegal in Federal Heights. Convictions for fireworks that launch, fly, or otherwise leave the ground are subject to a minimum fine of $1,000.

Four Federal Heights police officers recently completed a 40-hour training course with the Arvada Police Department and earned certification through the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA). The department now has four certified bike officers, along with two e-bikes and two pedal bikes. The bike patrol program will enhance community engagement by increasing officers' visibility and accessibility throughout the community. This highly approachable presence helps strengthen relationships with residents, build trust, and foster cooperation between the department and the community

Today is the last day for Federal Heights residents to go to Water World for FREE! Residents can get up to 4 free tickets per address with a photo ID and bill showing your name and address. Stop by City Hall, 2380 W. 90th Ave, to get your tickets and go to Water World today.

☀️ FREE SUMMER MEALS & FOOD ASSISTANCE RESOURCES 🍎

As summer break begins, several local programs are available to help ensure children, teens, and families have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months.

Adams 12 Five Star Schools and Westminster Public Schools are once again offering free summer meals for youth ages 1–18, with many locations requiring no registration and serving meals regardless of household income or school enrollment status.

In addition, Thrive Church continues to provide food assistance through:
🥫 Food Bank – Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
🍲 Community Soup Kitchen – Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

These programs help support families in our community and ensure no resident goes without assistance when it is needed most.

REMINDER: Free Water World tickets are still available for Federal Heights residents!

Tickets are currently being distributed at City Hall and are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Residents may pick recieve up to four tickets per household through Friday, June 5.

To receive tickets, residents must present BOTH:
• A valid photo ID
• Proof of Federal Heights residency (such as a City utility bill)

Tuesday–Friday | 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Water World tickets are valid June 1–5, 2026.

Proud day for our department! Acting Police Chief Karl Ballard attended the police academy graduation to support our newest candidate, Dion Bradley, as he takes the next step toward joining our team.

Congratulations on this important achievement and the hard work it took to get here. We look forward to welcoming him to the department once he successfully completes the POST exam.
