After nine incredible years, it is with a heavy but hopeful heart that we announce the closing of our inclusive, sensory-friendly children’s gym. Our last day of operations will be July 31, 2025.
This space has been more than a gym, it’s been a safe haven. A joyful, judgment-free zone where children of all abilities could play, grow, and be celebrated just as they are. We’ve witnessed these children grow up from first steps and developmental milestones to meaningful friendships, quiet moments of courage, and endless laughter. Parents found community here. Children found belonging. Together, we created something beautiful and rare: true Play with a Purpose.
The decision to close has not come easily. The truth is, behind the scenes, our journey has been difficult. We have survived the COVID-19 pandemic, financial strain, and more than a few bewildering challenges we still don’t fully understand. We’ve kept going thanks to our mission of providing an inclusive space for children with and without disabilities, along with the love, loyalty, and kindness of the community. You all have been our shining light.
We are especially grateful to those who uplifted us: our compassionate property manager, Marian Adams; the Autism Society of Cumberland County and North Carolina; First and Families of North Carolina (especially Cumberland County); veterans, women, and minority support organizations (especially NC HUB); small business community organizations including VBOC of FSU, CEED, and Carolina Small Business Development Fund; the ABA, OT, play, and PT clinicians who chose our gym for treatment sessions; the autism and Down syndrome support groups; and so many others who believed in our mission when it wasn’t easy. Your support reminded us why this space mattered.
Though the physical gym is closing, this is not goodbye. We plan to continue our mission in new ways, bringing mobile sensory-friendly experiences to community and private events. For those with active memberships that extend beyond July 31, you will receive a refund for the remaining time (call to confirm). We will hold a farewell celebration on July 19, starting at 2:30 p.m.
We are beyond blessed to have shared this journey with each of you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.
