These volunteers along with our volunteer instructors just completed 64 hours of basic firefighting. The class started on March 30 and over the course of nights and weekends finished up on May 26th. The class will be completed June 6th and 7th as they will be at the state fire academy for 16 more hours of hands on training. At the end of this weekend these group will have spent at a minimum 96 hours of training to meet the state minimum requirements for a firefighter. Congratulations to these new volunteers and thank you to the instructors who give of their time to lead classes like this.

Lincoln Co Fire Rescue volunteers completed hands on skills as part of the 64 hours of training required by the state. Under the guidance of our in house instructors, this group will soon have completed 80 hours of instruction so far this year. They still have 16 more hours at the state fire school to complete the minimum state requirements, on their way to becoming firefighters. Congratulations to these who are giving of their time and to our instructors who invest their time and knowledge into these classes.

Please be advised that Gunter Hollow Road will be closed between 120 and 143 all this week. The closure will occur during working hours, and the road will reopen each evening.

Please use caution when traveling through this area during the evening hours.

Lincoln County Highway Dept, LCVFR/EMA, Lincoln County Swift Water Team, and Lincoln County Sheriff Office spent the day clearing debris from bridge pillars ahead of an upcoming TDOT inspection. Everyone worked hard together to get this accomplished for the county. A big Thank You to all who helped with this.
