Fayetteville Cumberland County Joint Appearance Commission The JAC is dedicated to upholding and maintaining the general appearance codes of the county, making our community a more beautiful place to live.

The Cumberland County Joint Appearance Commission is made up of 15 Commissioners that represent the nine municipalities within the county - Fayetteville, Spring Lake, Wade, Hope Mills, Eastover, Godwin, Stedman, and Falcon. The Joint Appearance Commission meets on the first Monday of every month at Fayetteville City Hall, to discuss and review all matters within the county involving appearance sta

ndards. The Commission is charged with:
- Initiating and assisting in the implementation of programs of general community beautification.
- Requesting building, facility, and project plans from proper officials and making recommendations regarding aesthetic suitability to the appropriate agency.
- Directing the attention of county or municipal officials for needed enforcement of county appearance standards. This Commission is dedicated to upholding and maintaining the general appearance codes of the county, making our community a more beautiful place to live. The Joint Appearance Commission hosts an annual Community Appearance Awards Program and ceremony to honor and recognize members of our community and their respective properties in Cumberland County, that are contributing to and improving the general appearance of the community as a whole. Both residential and commercial properties are eligible to receive awards. There will be a Volunteer Litter Cleanup on Saturday, March 5 at 9 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church located at 517 Glensford Drive. Bags, vests and gloves will be provided. Please bring a water bottle. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled. Questions? Email [email protected].

Cumberland County NC Government Solid Waste is teaming up with the and the nonprofit, Sustainable Sandhills to encourage businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to reverse litter by having people pick up five pieces of trash and recyclable materials every Friday.
