At approximately 10:39 a.m. today, the Fayetteville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at a two-story apartment building located in the 2100 block of East Oaks Drive.

Upon arrival, crews found the building actively on fire and quickly worked to bring the incident under control. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire and prevented further spread.

Three adults and three minors were transported from the scene with injuries. One additional adult was evaluated and treated at the scene but declined transportation to a medical facility. There were no burn injuries reported, and no firefighters were injured during the response.

We would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance at the scene and for providing coverage throughout the city while Fayetteville Fire Department crews remained committed to the incident:

• Springdale, West Fork, Farmington and Rogers Fire Departments
• Washington County Department of Emergency Management
• Central EMS
• Fayetteville Police Department
• Fayetteville Animal Services

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Summer camp season is in full swing! ☀️

A big thank you to St. James Baptist Church for inviting the Fayetteville Fire Department to visit their Vacation Bible School Camp. Firefighters from Hazmat 1 A-Shift enjoyed spending time with the campers and sharing important fire safety tips.

These young campers did a great job asking questions and participating in the lessons. We appreciate the opportunity to help keep our community safe while making summer memories.

Ladder 4 A-Shift had a great time teaching important fire safety lessons and giving campers from Safety Town NWA a hands-on look at the tools they use every day. From exploring the fire truck to checking out firefighting gear and equipment, the campers asked great questions and showed lots of enthusiasm.

We always enjoy opportunities to help young people learn how to stay safe. A big thank you to Safety Town NWA for helping make fire safety education fun and memorable!

As Walmart Shareholders Week comes to a close, we want to thank everyone who helped make it a safe and successful week in Fayetteville.

From supporting large-scale events and community gatherings to providing standby coverage and emergency response readiness, Fayetteville Fire Department was proud to be part of the excitement while helping keep residents and visitors safe.

We're sharing this friendly heads-up from the City of Fayetteville.

If you hear fireworks lighting up the sky around 9:00 p.m. on June 4, don't be alarmed, it's a permitted fireworks display at Razorback Stadium as part of Walmart Shareholders Week.

Fayetteville Fire crews will be on standby to help ensure the event is safe so everyone can enjoy the show. We'll handle the "just in case" while you enjoy the "oohs" and "aahs."

Heads up, Fayetteville! Fireworks are happening this Thursday night!

As part of Walmart Shareholders' activities, a properly permitted fireworks show is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, at 9:00 pm. The show will run for approximately 25 minutes.

All eyes on the south side of Reynolds Razorback Stadium for the show.

Additional FYI: Stadium Drive is already closed due to construction; Razorback Road will be temporarily closed during the display; there is a 280’ safety/fallout zone, and Fayetteville Arkansas Fire Department crews will be on standby.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Stop the Bleed class. Their commitment to learning these lifesaving skills helps make our community safer and more prepared for emergencies.
In a serious bleeding emergency, immediate action can save a life. Participants learned how to:

🩸 Apply direct pressure to control bleeding
🩸 Pack a wound effectively
🩸 Properly use a tourniquet

You never know when these skills may be needed to help a family member, friend, coworker, or even a stranger.

Engine 7 A-Shift spent time in our community checking smoke detectors, and making sure homes are prepared for emergencies.

One of the highlights was meeting a very curious young man who wanted to learn all about firefighting equipment! From helmets and air packs to hoses and tools, his excitement and questions reminded us why community outreach matters so much.

We’re always proud to help keep our community safe and inspiring the next generation of firefighters. Remember, working smoke detectors and a practiced evacuation plan can save lives!

AR-Task Force 1 Helicopter Rescue Team (AHRT) participated in Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) 2026 in San Antonio, Texas.

The AHRT is made up of personnel from the Fayetteville, Rogers, and Springdale Fire Departments, alongside the Arkansas Air National Guard. During SAREX, teams trained through a variety of simulated emergency scenarios requiring helicopter units to locate, contact, and safely rescue individuals in distress.

These realistic exercises help strengthen coordination with state and federal partners while preparing responders for complex rescue operations and natural disaster response situations that may not occur routinely, but require precision and teamwork when they do.
