The 155th Medical Detachment (Preventive Medicine) was constituted on 7 October 1944 and activated in England on 22 November 1944. Following two re-designations, the unit was credited with numerous campaign participations during the Korean War. The 155th was decorated with the Meritorious Unit Commendation Streamer, embroidered Korea 1953, before inactivating on 20 December 1954. The detachment w

as reactivated on 22 October 1962 and received credit for the following campaigns in Vietnam: Defense Counteroffensives Phase II-IV and Tet69, Summer-Fall 1969 and Winter-Spring 1970 campaigns. The 155th received Meritorious Unit Commendation and Streamer, embroidered Vietnam 1968-69. The 155th was last activated on 21 September 1972 at Fort Bragg. The unit participated in the Vietnam Refugee Program in 1975, Earthquake Disaster Relief efforts in Guatemala in 1976, the Armed Forces Expeditionary to Grenada in 1983 and Hurricane Relief Efforts in 1992. The 155th participated in Operation Uphold Democracy, Haiti in 1994; Operation Bright Star in 1999; Operation Joint Forge in 2002 and served in Iraq from March - June 2003, during Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-06, Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09, and Operation Enduring Freedom from May 2011-May 2012.
