📣Arrest Made In Pelt Drive Homicide📣

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of Odis Norris Jr.

On September 11, 2026, around 7:49 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Pelt Drive and Carlyle Drive for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they located a male victim who had been shot. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was identified as Odis Norris Jr, a 70-year-old black male, from Fayetteville. His next-of-kin has been notified.

On September 14, 2026, Wilson Watson, a 38-year-old white male, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Firearm by Felon. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

We also want to recognize our retired officers who continue to give back by volunteering, along with the dedicated volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make this event happen. Your service doesn’t go unnoticed.

To every rider, volunteer, retiree, partner, and supporter — we couldn’t have done it without you.

Because I missed Y’ALL! 😭😂

I know some of you have been opening Facebook in the mornings like:

“Dang… no foolishness today??”

Don’t worry.

I HAVE RETURNED. 💀

And on a MONDAY of all days… because apparently I enjoy making difficult situations worse. 😂

So how are we feeling this morning, FAYYYETTEVILLEEEE?

Because personally, Monday came in a little too confident for somebody NOBODY INVITED.

Like sir… please lower your voice. 😭

And now that school is back in full swing, these morning roads???

WHEWWWW.

You’ve got:

🚌 School buses making their rounds
🚗 Parents fighting for their lives in drop-off lines
🏎️ Somebody who left the house at 7:57 for an 8:00 appointment and has now made that EVERYBODY’S problem
😭 And somebody sitting at a green light because apparently we’re waiting for a handwritten invitation to GO.

FAYYYETTEVILLEEEE…

BEEP BEEP, BESTIE. IT’S GREEN. 😂😂😂

But seriously, give yourself some extra time this morning.

🚸 Slow down in those school zones.
🚌 Watch for buses loading and unloading.
📵 Put the phone DOWN while driving.
🚗 Leave some space between you and the car ahead.
👀 And use those turn signals!

Because why are some of y’all announcing a lane change AS YOU’RE ALREADY HALFWAY INTO MY LANE?!

That wasn’t a signal.

That was a status update. 😭💀

HOMICIDE INVESTIGTION UPDATE: Victim Identified

On September 11, 2026, around 7:49 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the area of Pelt Drive and Carlyle Drive for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they located a male victim who had been shot. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Detective C. Cross at (472) 210-2381.
