Congratulations to FSU’s associate professor of social work, Professor Dennis E. Corbin for being Elected to Lead the Cumberland County DSS Board 
 
Dr. Corbin has been elected chair of the Cumberland County Department of Social Services Board, effective Jan. 28, reflecting the university’s growing leadership presence in community governance and public service. 
 
Serving as vice chair since 2024, Dr. Corbin’s election reflects the board’s confidence in his leadership!

Tamika Mallory is a nationally recognized civil rights activist, organizer, and public speaker known for her fearless advocacy for racial justice, police accountability, and Black liberation. As a co-founder of Until Freedom, she has been a leading voice in grassroots organizing and mass mobilization, challenging systems of oppression and demanding structural change. Mallory is widely respected for centering Black communities, speaking truth to power, and inspiring action rooted in courage, clarity, and collective responsibility.
