A vote for Shawn L. Campbell is a vote for the candidate with the most relative experience for the job and the only one with actual magistrate experience. My lifelong commitment to public service has perfectly prepared me for this position and to have a deep appreciation for the pressure, stress and burdens that come with going to court for whatever reason that may be.

Following my retirement in 2021 as Captain of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, I accepted an appointment to the position of interim Fayette County Magistrate by the Chief Circuit Court Judge. During my time as Magistrate, I had no cases appealed to the circuit court and prided myself on my availability to those seeking the services of the court. As a career police officer, I found myself on thousands of occasions dealing with why people ultimately go to magistrate court. As a magistrate I served the people of Fayette County as a magistrate should, with as much accuracy and non-biased approach as possible. Following my time as interim magistrate, I worked as an investigator dealing mostly in arson/fire incidents as well as cases through the Supreme Court (PD Services).

I am proudly endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police – 118 and the Fayette County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

Election Day is May 14th 2024

Early Voting Starts on May 1st through May 11th 2024

Early voting locations:

I am excited, humbled and honored to receive the endorsements from both the Fayette County Deputy Sheriff's Association and the Fraternal Order of Police 118 for the position of Fayette County Magistrate-Division 2.

We are excited to announce that Shawn Campbell has filed for the office of Magistrate of Fayette County - Division 2. Campbell served as a Deputy Sheriff in Fayette County for more than 2 decades before retiring as Captain. He then served as interim Magistrate in 2021-22 after a selection process by the Fayette County Circuit Court.

During Campbell's time as a law enforcement officer and Magistrate he developed the knowledge and experience to fulfill the duties of this office with honor and dedication. On thousands of occasions throughout this time as Deputy Sheriff and ultimately as a Magistrate, Campbell experienced first-hand all of the reasons that lead people to seek the services of the Magistrate court.

Campbell is very passionate about this position and wishes to continue his life-long public service career as your next Division 2 Magistrate.

Lunch on a beautiful Thursday afternoon with this wonderful group in Meadow Bridge was an absolute delight. Hearing the military stories from the veterans and their loved ones and how lives have been lived never gets old. Thanks to the MBCC for being so gracious and welcoming.
