🍎🥕 We’re excited to announce that 18 CCS elementary schools have been awarded the USDA Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program Grant for the 2026–2027 school year! Students at participating schools will receive FREE fresh fruit and vegetable snacks every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during the school day.

Participating Elementary Schools: Ashley, Bill Hefner, Cliffdale, College Lakes, Ed V. Baldwin, Elizabeth M. Cashwell, Glendale Acres, J.W. Seabrook, Long Hill, Loyd E. Auman, Lucile Souders, Mary McArthur, New Century International, Walker-Spivey, Warrenwood, Westarea, William H. Owen, and William T. Brown Elementary Schools.

Day Two: Learn. Connect. Lead. Grow. 💼📚🤝

Day Two of our Leadership Professional Development provided another valuable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and connection!

Throughout the day, our Child Nutrition Leadership Team engaged in technical training across a variety of areas designed to expand their knowledge, strengthen their leadership skills, and equip them to lead their teams effectively while continuing to provide exceptional service to our students.

We were also pleased to welcome several of our Child Nutrition Services’ partners, including the Cumberland County, NC Government Environmental Health team and Manpower Fayetteville, NC.

Strong leadership is built through continuous learning and strong programs are built through strong partnerships. We appreciate everyone who contributed to another productive day of professional growth!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Child Nutrition leadership team back as we prepare for another successful school year! 💙🍎

Our day was focused on leadership development, important program updates, and team-building strategies designed to strengthen the way we lead and serve.

And judging by these photos, team building was definitely in full swing! 😄🙌 There was plenty of laughter, connection, problem-solving, and teamwork—all reminders that strong teams are built when we learn, grow, and have a little fun together.
