Hey Fate!

As I mentioned during today’s City Council meeting, I wanted to provide some context regarding the attached questions.

Last week, several members of the City Council were invited by Messer Fort to submit any questions we had regarding their representation of the City in writing so they could provide responses.

The first seven questions were submitted on July 9. Later that same day, Messer Fort notified the City that they would be resigning as the City’s legal counsel, effective July 20. Because they remained under contract through that date, additional questions were submitted with the hope that they would still provide the requested responses before their representation officially concluded.

Unfortunately, it now appears that Messer Fort has chosen not to answer those questions.

While I am disappointed by that outcome, I believe transparency is important. In that spirit, I am sharing the questions exactly as they were submitted so our residents can see what information was being requested and judge for themselves.

Today we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America—a nation whose founding recognized that our rights are not granted by government, but are endowed by our Creator. As we reflect on the extraordinary blessings of liberty, let us first give thanks to Almighty God, whose providential hand has sustained our nation through triumph, trial, and every generation in between. May we never forget that freedom carries with it the responsibility to pursue righteousness, love our neighbors, and humbly seek the Lord, for it is only by His grace that any nation truly prospers. Happy 250th, America! May God continue to bless our land, strengthen our families and churches, raise up leaders of wisdom and integrity, and draw our nation ever closer to Him as He guides us into the next 250 years. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
