Did you know our department has a gym for our firefighters to use? 🙂 Using our fundraiser funds , donations from our own home gyms and a few plates and kettlebells from Planet Fitness we have built a space so our staff can focus on being physically ready for any call. 💪🏻

That being said, we are looking for some heavier dumbbells and a stairmaster. If you have any of these you’re wanting to get rid of let us know!

Also, we are hiring! 🙂 Stop in to grab an application. 🚒

We are 90 days into the year, and so far we have had 208 runs in those 90 days. Hope you're not run #209!!

We also have two new certified firefighters as of last Saturday! Congratulations to Jonathan Shell and Presdyn Shannon on passing your written and practical tests! It's always a relief when those classes are over. Job well done boys!!

Congratulations to our two newbies - Presdyn Shannon and Jonathan Shell - on passing their hands on practical state exam for Fire 1&2 today 🥳 Fingers crossed for the same results on the written they took on Thursday! 😝

148 runs thru February 28th so far! First grass fire today with Garfield Township Fire and Rescue. Please be careful when burning outdoors. Check the Surrey Twp. Website for the burn ordinance. It's March 2nd now, and already had 9 runs for March. Hope you're not run #158!!

For the second year in a row, STFD has represented in The Clare County Review best of the best awards 🥳 Chief Dave Williams was voted best firefighter of 2025!

73 runs for the month of January, I'm always amazed when people are shocked that we go on this many calls. Granted it varies from month to month, but 40-50 runs in thirty days is normal. That is why it is important to staff this hall, so we have people available to get to your emergency when minutes count! Feel free to stop in and ask questions M-F 8-4. We would be glad to tell you how well this is working!! We hope you aren't our 74th run!!
