🚨 INCIDENT UPDATE 🚨
WEST WEBER COUNTY, Utah — June 1, 2026

Brush Fire in West Weber County Contained at Approximately 55 Acres

At approximately 1:00 p.m. today, Weber Fire District crews responded to reports of a brush fire near 8800 West and 900 South in West Weber County.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire actively burning in light brush. Shifting winds and difficult access to the fire area created significant challenges for responding crews during the initial attack. Once firefighters were able to gain access to the fire, crews aggressively engaged in a direct attack strategy to slow the fire’s progression and establish containment.

The fire ultimately consumed approximately 55 acres.

At this time, the fire is 100% contained, and crews remain on scene working toward full extinguishment and monitoring for any remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Weber Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office.

Weber Fire District would like to express its sincere appreciation to our partner agencies for their rapid response and assistance during this incident, including:

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

As we spend time with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect on those who never made it home, and the families who continue to carry that sacrifice.

🇺🇸 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND SAFETY 🇺🇸

As many of us gather with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, Weber Fire District would like to remind everyone to celebrate safely.

Whether you’re grilling at home, enjoying a campfire, or spending time outdoors, a little extra caution can help prevent accidents and emergencies.

🔥 Use grills outdoors and away from structures or combustibles
🔥 Never leave campfires or grills unattended
🔥 Keep children and pets a safe distance from flames and hot surfaces
🔥 Ensure fires are completely extinguished before leaving

But let’s also take time this weekend to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸

💫 EMS EXCELLENCE AWARD 💫

Recently, Weber Fire District presented an EMS Excellence Award to a crew whose actions helped save a life.

The crew responded to a cardiac arrest call and immediately began CPR and advanced life support care. During treatment, they were unable to consistently detect or maintain a pulse through traditional methods.

Thanks to newly implemented prehospital ultrasound protocols and equipment, the crew was able to locate a faint pulse that otherwise may not have been detected. This allowed them to continue targeted patient care and transport the patient to the hospital with signs of life.

Weber Fire District, in collaboration with medical residents, is implementing prehospital ultrasound protocols — the first of their kind in Weber County.

This technology enhances paramedic capabilities by:
▪️ Rapidly assessing injuries
▪️ Improving vascular access
▪️ Supporting more informed treatment decisions in the field

By bringing advanced diagnostic tools directly to the patient, our crews are able to provide an even higher level of care before arrival at the hospital.

In this case, having both the technology and the training to use it made a lifesaving difference.

Congratulations to the crew on this well-deserved recognition.
