April is National Poetry Month!
The Friends of the Barbara Rose Johns Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library nonprofit is celebrating 250 years of American Poetry. Do you have a favorite among America’s long and varied list of poets? Then join us at the Farmville Library on Monday, April 20 at 7 p.m. for “An Evening of American Poetry.” This is a family event, open to the public. All ages are welcome and light refreshments will be available.
Sign up forms are available at the library. Fill it out and return it to the library by April 13, 2026. Then come, read your poem to fellow poetry lovers and tell us why it is special to you! We love American poets!

The Farmville Branch of the Central Virginia Regional Library is hiring a part-time Library Assistant to work about 20 hours per week at $14.42 per hour. Evening and weekend hours are required. This position is responsible for circulation tasks, helping the public use computers, shelving, assisting with programs, and other duties as assigned. Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass a criminal background check is required.
