Good evening, FMS Patriot Families,

This is your principal, Dr. Casey, with your weekly Patriot Update for the week of September 7th. We hope all of our students and families are enjoying the long weekend! As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, September 7th. We look forward to welcoming our Patriots back on Tuesday!

This week, our students will complete their beginning-of-year DreamBox Reading and Math assessments. The results will help us better understand each student’s individual strengths and areas for growth and allow us to personalize instruction through DreamBox, an adaptive online learning platform that students will use regularly throughout the school year. On Friday, students will also complete the DESSA assessment. Information explaining the DESSA was sent home with students last week.

📚 Title I Curriculum Night & AVID Signing Night
Mark your calendars! FMS will host our Annual Title I Curriculum Night and AVID Signing Night on Tuesday, September 15, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. We hope you’ll join us to learn more about what your child will be learning this year, connect with our staff, and celebrate our AVID students!

🏈🏐 This Week in FMS Athletics
It’s an exciting week for Patriot Athletics! We will host our first home football game of the season, while our undefeated Lady Patriot Volleyball Team hits the road!
- Wednesday, 9/9: Away Volleyball vs. Rocky Mount Prep
- Thursday, 9/10: Home Football vs. C.M. Eppes

Admission to home athletic events is $8.00 cash. Come out Thursday and help us create a great home-field atmosphere for our Patriots!

AM Bus Updates:

📌 Students who live in Pine Grove Apartments will be picked up by Bus 441 starting at 7:40 this morning.

📌 Students who are routed to Bus 441 but do not live in PGA will be picked up by Bus 263.

📌 Students who ride Bus 219 will be picked up this morning by sub bus 160.
