WE'RE HIRING!! FIREFIGHTER (FULL TIME)

The Town of Farmville is seeking candidates for the position of Firefighter.

Applicants must be certified as Firefighter 1 and EMT-B, have a minimum of two years career or volunteer firefighter experience, possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, have a high school diploma/GED equivalent, and meet all of the minimum required qualifications. Successful applicants must pass a background investigation, substance abuse screening, job related testing and physical examination, as well as a panel interview. Starting salary is $46,014.00

In addition to a competitive salary, the Town of Farmville offers an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, VRS retirement, employer paid life and short-term disability insurance, state paid holidays, and generous paid time off.

Chesterfield County Fire and EMS is saddened to announce the death of Firefighter Alicia A. Monahan, assigned to Engine 207-B shift who unexpectedly passed away this afternoon while off duty.

Alicia was 41 years old and an 11 plus year veteran of our department. Our prayers and full support are with her fiancée and both her sons.

Our hearts and prayers go out to Alicia’s family, friends, and co-workers during this very difficult time.

More details concerning arrangements and any needs the family may have will be provided as they become available.
