The Recruit Sustainment Program is designed to get new Army National Guard recruits physically, mentally, and administratively prepared for Basic Combat Training/Advanced Individual training. RSP recruits get paid for their time at RSP training weekends.

Farmington, N.M. โ€“ The New Mexico Army National Guard recruiting team hosted a National Guard signing and oath of enlistment ceremony at the Farmington Readiness Center.

The event kicked off with a speech from the Recruit Sustainment Program Commander Capt. Zachary Jessee followed by presentations from Fairrena Locklear with the N.M. National Guard Family Programs and Paulette Varley with the Four Corners Blue Star Mothers of America.

3 recruits were promoted. Pvt. Tabitha Tso was promoted to Private First Class. Private Nicholas Barilla and Private Amaya Williamson were promoted to Private with insignia. Sgt. First Class Talicia Mahan published the order while Drill Sergeant Broderick Benally pinned on the ranks.

The Master of Ceremony, Staff Sgt. Skyler Harrison, gave a speech before announcing the names of the high school seniors. The high school recruits were presented with a coin and given the oath of enlistment by Capt. Jesse. The recruits then signed their ceremonial oath of enlistment document signifying and solidifying their commitment to the N.M. Army National Guard. We recognized 11 high school seniors from 8 high schools in the Farmington and Gallup area.

The event is meant to highlight the dedication and commitment that these young men and women make and promote family support in soldiersโ€™ careers. In addition, many families could not attend their recruits initial swear-in ceremony at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) so this allows them to witness it first hand.

Thank you to the families, the NMNG Family Programs and the Blue Star Mothers of America for attending.
