Medicare questions can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to sort through them alone. 💙

Did you know there are resources available to help Medicare-eligible individuals, families, and caregivers better understand their options?

State Health Insurance Assistance Programs, also known as SHIP, provide local, one-on-one, unbiased Medicare counseling at no cost to consumers. Counselors can help you better understand Medicare coverage, enrollment, plan options, and other Medicare-related questions.

In Missouri, the state’s SHIP program provides Medicare counseling assistance.

Knowing where to turn for reliable information can make a big difference. L.I.F.E., Inc. can also connect individuals with community information and resources.

Thinking about returning to work, but not sure where to start? 💼

Social Security’s Ticket to Work Program is a free, voluntary program for eligible people ages 18–64 who receive Social Security disability benefits and want to explore employment.

Through the program, participants can connect with approved service providers for support such as career counseling, job placement assistance, vocational rehabilitation, training, and more.

Shonna is always busy keeping one of our key programs up and running. As you can see, she has a smile on her face even when she is busy at her desk. Shonna is the Director of our In-Home Care Program. This program provides employees of LIFE INC- Center for Independent Living to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), that most of us take for granted. They step in to help our consumers live independently in a healthy, safe, and secure environment in their own homes. Our Aides do dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, laundry and other tasks while Shonna keeps everything running smoothly by following the guidelines, reviewing the required paperwork and providing oversite for her team.

ATTENTION MEDICARE RECPIANTS, we are now taking counseling reservations for 2027 Medicare year, open enrollment. You can reserve your session by calling our number below. We will inform you of the necessary information you will need to bring in order to provide a free un-biased review of your Medicare open enrollment options. We do not sell insurance nor do we get any funding for these reviews. We provide these sessions as a FREE service.
Each year, medication formularies and coverages may change without you knowing. Please review your coverage each year so you are "in the know" about what will happen on January 1st.

Nick earned his associate degree at Landmark College in Vermont in May 2025 and decided to keep going rather than stop there. The college listed him on its Dean's List for both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Sharing photos from the latest dorm move-in, Al wrote that he would miss his son and that he was very proud of him, and Nick's mother, Deborah Roberts, shared the milestone too. Support at home is what makes a milestone like this possible.

Today we said goodbye to Pam. She has been with SADI for over 14 years! We wish her all the best on her next chapter! Go travel, enjoy family time, and just enjoy having no set schedule!

🌟 Celebrating Young Leaders!

We are proud to recognize Morgan Sweeney-Legore, our youngest board member, for volunteering her time at the Youth Leadership Forum, hosted by the Governor's Council on Disability.
Including young adults in our boards, programs, planning, and decision-making is so important. Young people bring their own experiences, ideas, priorities, and perspectives—and we need their voices at the table as we plan for the future.

Morgan is a student at Missouri State University and continues to demonstrate her commitment to her community and to leadership.

We celebrate Morgan for representing young adults with disabilities and showing the importance of not just inviting the next generation to participate, but creating meaningful opportunities for them to lead, serve, and help shape change.
