Farmingdale Fire Department Rescue Squad

Emergency Medical Service provider for the Incorporated Village of Farmingdale. Village of Farmingdale.

The Farmingdale Fire Department Rescue Squad provides both Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support care to the residents of the Inc. The squad is made up of members from both the Water Witch Engine and Hose Co #1 and Hook Ladder and Hose Co #1. Current Rescue Squad Officers (2022-2023)

The Rescue Squad maintains two ambulances, 929 and 9299 as well as one first responder vehicle, 9266.

This afternoon members responded to a fall victim. Upon arrival pt. was found lying in the ground unconscious. Pt. was stabilized and packaged up for transport. During this time aviation was called and a landing site was established for Howitt Middle School. Crews from 927, and 924 established the landing zone. Pt. arrived at middle school and was airlifted to the closest trauma hospital. Pt was in critical condition.

On Friday, April 5, 2025 the following members were
sworn in as Rescue Squad officers for the 2025-2026 year: Captain Aaron Abrahamsen, 1st Gabriella Cordi, 2nd Lieutenant Adam Bruzzese, and Chief Chauffeur Robert Perdue . They look forward to serving the Village of Farmingdale and will continue to improve EMS services for all residents and visitors!

We are always accepting volunteers! Handling over 100 calls each month, there are plenty of opportunities to gain EMS experience. If you’re not already an EMT, AEMT, or paramedic, we can help you get certified! Send us a message or stop by the firehouse at 361 Main Street to learn more!

Big News for New York EMS!

New York is now officially the 50th state to recognize National Registry certification for EMTs and Paramedics. This means a more streamlined certification process, consistent national standards for patient care, and increased career opportunities for EMS professionals across the state.

Town of Hempstead held their 9/11 service at the memorial in Point Lookout earlier this morning. Ambulance 929 attended the ceremony and was available for any EMS needs.
